Freshman on Information technology, prolly gonna head towards e-business or office admin. Graphic design is best self-taught.
I'm currently working towards a BS in Electrical Engineering & Computer Sciences. That's a single major, EECS, not two. It still strikes me as pretty weird that I'm an adult, that I'll have a piece of paper with my name on it at the end of my time in college that claims that I'll make a good engineer, and that I have projects on the side that might make me a little bit of money on the side.

Because the things that used to make you smile no longer do, and the things which once granted you happiness have lost their meaning.
Staying fully engaged in something helps ward off ennui. keep pushing the boundaries of what you know or can do even if it is in small ways.

Assuming one definition of jaded:
- Overexposure.
- Caring is pretty damn taxing on the mind. It subjects you to so much stress, that eventually you just want it to stop, so you compromise and sacrifice caring about others for your personal well-being.
Assuming another definition of jaded:
- Overexposure.
- I actually learned about an interesting effect from my Psychology professor. Let's say you have something that you simply love doing, and try to fit as much time into your schedule for it. Let's say you're lucky and get the dream job: doing what you love. Within a relatively short time of getting your first paycheck, you will start liking that thing less, and less, and less (just as a result of being hired to do said thing).

Don't buy into that "you'll make a ton of money consulting" BS. I'm working as a banker to get the 15 years corporate experience they're looking for.
Eh, Economics and some other thing I've finally finished now. I'm killing time before I start up full-time work again by doing research-y stuff. Unfortunately, I have to stick with ma' full time work for at least a year. After that I'm going to see where I am. I'm looking seriously at either (A) branching off into Aboriginal development (B) doing yet another degree in Southeast Asian history or (C) tapping all my contacts to try and find a job that can hold my interest.

Wow, yeah? That's really interesting. Has any of that made you regret your career choice in some way? Not that I'm too big on making a ton of money but, that sounds very disheartening.

@Daft: That looks so familiar, but I cannot seem to recall the name of the NES.
Well that's an interesting mix, more science people than I expected (last time the question was asked there were a lot more history etc people, maybe that explains the shift away from the emphasis on story and more complex NES's?)
