I learned about NESing before I even joined by finding an NES whose name is lost to me sometime in mid-2005 while surfing the web during my Grade 9 Drafting and Design class, which happened in my high school's computer lab. I thought it was an insanely complex mod of Civ3, which I was borrowing at the time from a friend. I joined Civfanatics shortly thereafter and made my
first post in an alternate history thread by das in Civ3 Stories and Tales. Incidentally my first post was very close to Thlayli's, yet I didn't meet him or know him at all until he started his Safavid escapades NES2 V. But I digress, I proceeded to settle down down in Stories and Tales, ran a story throughout the summer, and then very nervously and hesitantly (NESers were a frightening and elite group, as I saw them at the time) joined a NES by Jason
here, which later became DOA, so I transported the nation into Kamilian's StKNES5, which was my first proper NES experience. I started modding a month into NESing using a modified version of Kamilian's ruleset, and haven't looked back since.
Well, okay, I look back a lot, mostly to laugh. Like now, for example.
