While We Wait: Writer's Block & Other Lame Excuses

So if I recall correctly, I found NESing through stumbleupon, which took me to an update of N3S. I was like WOW THIS NICHE IN THE INTERNET EXISTS? and then I bookmarked it and forgot about it for a year. Then I came and joined Milarqui's NES. Fun blurb. Anyone else care to share?

Edit: I quietly lurked for about 5 months before joining Milarui's NES, I should note.

Well I was perusing the fall from heaven forums when I saw, I think, a post from thomas.berubeg that had his signature talking about some NES he was a part of at that time (I believe it was Immaculate's FFH nes). So I checked it out and kind of hid for a few months before deciding to join in on the fun.

I was browsing through Civ3 succession games, when I stumbled across this sub-forum (it wasn't part of Other Games yet). First link I saw was a simple LuckyNES (V I believe). I picked up a Sweden that had carefully managed to expand against the odds and promptly ran it into the ground. I then noticed a NES called ABNW was just starting, took big bad Russia, lost a badly-planned war, and finally settled in and started learning my way around NESing.

Edit:
Crezth and I once started a war against the entire rest of the world. We should've won. I blame the RNG.

I learned about NESing before I even joined by finding an NES whose name is lost to me sometime in mid-2005 while surfing the web during my Grade 9 Drafting and Design class, which happened in my high school's computer lab. I thought it was an insanely complex mod of Civ3, which I was borrowing at the time from a friend. I joined Civfanatics shortly thereafter and made my first post in an alternate history thread by das in Civ3 Stories and Tales. Incidentally my first post was very close to Thlayli's, yet I didn't meet him or know him at all until he started his Safavid escapades NES2 V. But I digress, I proceeded to settle down down in Stories and Tales, ran a story throughout the summer, and then very nervously and hesitantly (NESers were a frightening and elite group, as I saw them at the time) joined a NES by Jason here, which later became DOA, so I transported the nation into Kamilian's StKNES5, which was my first proper NES experience. I started modding a month into NESing using a modified version of Kamilian's ruleset, and haven't looked back since.

Well, okay, I look back a lot, mostly to laugh. Like now, for example. ;)

I stumbled across offtopic from google and followed a sig an IOT in forum games. To my dismay, I found that all the active IOT's were too far along to properly join, but I got linked from there to the NESing forums. I saw EQ's BOTWAWKI and decided that looked interesting, created an account and joined up.

I heard a lot of good stuff about NES from various posters, had a look, decided it was too complicated, came back after about six months to join NukeNES IX (Genesis and Armagedon, for those who don't remember), and got hooked.

Civ 3 Stories and Tales, which I only browsed because I was tired of the lack of activity in the Civ 2 forums. Incidentally, I played my first NES over at Apolyton. The complex rules I saw at CFC intimidated me at the time. I made my official jump to CFC NESing with NiNES.

I came from Civ 3 Stories and Tales, looked at NESes for quite some time and then abaddon caught me viewing his NES and PM'd me. I then joined his tropical island of JeJe NES. After that I went into long Hiatus and finally started to follow FFHNES II, which I then joined.

Finmaster found me as a child in the waste of the Realms of the Northern King. He skied me to safety on his back and nursed me to strength in his own domain.

Civ 3 Stories & Tales is where I found it. My first NES was erez's one where I was some nation in India. Then I joined Kamilian's NES and the Iroquois and was on the verge of colonizing Europe. It was pretty awesome.

I'm not even sure if my first NES was some Uknemesis modern world NES where I played China (but it died right after I joined) or RTOR2 as China... Yeah I liked China back then.

I invented fresh start NESing :D

Can't remember how I first came across this subforum, honestly. Anyway, I forgot about it for a while until Owen Glyndwr et al pester me to come back again.

that was moi fault.

I found this through the Civ3 Stories and Tales link three years ago or so, and then lurked for a year or so before I joined anything.

A link in Iggy's signature brought me here :)

Used to be an OTer throughoutly. Saw it early on during my CFC days, but was intimidated and afraid I couldn't figure it out, so I didn't join. Some time later, I found my way here through Abby's link and joined a simple and unrealistic NES while still learning about the world's geology. (I started in the midasian mountains and used cavalry and stuff.)

Since, all I think I will be recalled for is the Hu'ut. Which is a decent archievement, but NK did a lot of the work, so I'm not really as properly seated here as I should after all these years. The Raka had a chance to make me shine somehow, but they crumbled and died with the NES, so there goes my compositions. :(

This. A story he had posted in S&T, I think. Why I was in S&T, I have no idea. I've never been back since and I don't recall frequenting it at the time, but it was like six years ago so I don't remember.
