2020 US Election (Part One)

His election night rally was in Los Angeles. I don't know if he did much else, but he did do that.
And he only got 127 delegates to Bernie's 179.

Strategically, it would have been really difficult for Biden to do any better in California. Had he gotten more votes it would probably have been at Bloomberg's expense. That could have pushed Bloomberg under the 15% threshold, which would have given Biden a few more delegates but would have given Sanders an even bigger increase. A gap of fifty delegates is a very acceptable outcome given the rest of the results and compared to expectations. Frankly, the only way that California could have gone better for Biden is if Warren had pulled enough support from Sanders to also break threshold.

EDIT: Just checked, and at this point in the seemingly endless process of counting votes in California it appears that Bloomberg is falling just below the threshold, so Biden might have done better by doing just a tiny bit worse.

10 If x fails, try it again, hoping this time it won't fail.
20 If it fails again, blame others, your choice was clearly sound.

Sadly it's an easy dichotomy for the average democrat to fall into since it's immigrants, minorities and young people who are harmed most by Trump's reactionary cult regime. There's just not that much at stake for them to put up a real effort.

So, you are suggesting that since his campaign failed to get him enough votes to win the nomination last time Sanders is obviously making a mistake by running the same campaign this time? If only you were we would be in agreement, but I know that you are not...even though it clearly does apply. Sanders is getting the same support this time that he got last time, less the people who just don't want to waste their time, effort, and votes on a repeat loss.

Second, your ongoing divisiveness as a non citizen encourages the re-election of the orange baboon among those who will be actually voting.

But I, as non U.S. Citizen, believe both the Republican Party of the United States and the Democratic Party of the United States should be destroyed, or at least severely humbled, as political forces, and the rigged and corrupt, Mugabe- and Putin-style hold they have on the electoral system broken utterly, and those amongst their officeholders, serving or retired, who have committed serious crimes in office should face real trial and punishment for them, and a politically healthy multi-party system with real political choice and laws that restrict bribery and graft by powerful plutocrats, that are enforced, would be best for the U.S., and the world...

I promise not to mind if Bernie loses the nomination, if you won't mind Biden losing the election.

The lackluster establishment Democrat in 2016 didn't save us from Trump. Probably won't in 2020. I'd rather go for broke with Bernie.

I prefer Bernie as well, unfortunately not enough people do. I'm not American but I would vote for Bernie or Biden.

Both would be accountable to the larger party so neither one is going to get away with anything to stupid.

If Bernie wins he's not going to be able to deliver on much.

How in blazes would you suggest that I go about "not minding" the re-election of Trump? I could bug out to Belize if worst comes to worst, but I still consider the possibility of a Trump re-election as nothing short of global disaster. Your Russian masters should dock your pay, because this post was too silly to count towards your check.

10 if your persuasiveness fails the first time add lying
20 if it fails again, lie harder and tell bigger lies
30 if success still evades you, project your failings onto others

Oh what fun! I can post nonsense that looks important. It even has numbers that make it look like it is a computer program.

Why don't you tell us why Bernie is so great and has what it takes to win?

Because I don't care about what you, Tim, or anyone else here votes? Seriously, you guys should take a break from thinking I have to take you into consideration when just posting on CFC. We aren't on some media reaching tens of millions of people, ffs :p

That's ok, I'm being paid considerably more to develop coronaviruses.

Feels like a movie, Trump vs Biden.
20 years ago i would have never thought the U.S. can sink that low, might as well dump the whole president appointment and rule Amercia via Twitter or so.

As recently as 2000, Donald Trump, on the same kind of platform and campaigning style he won on in 2016 would have been utterly unelectable, a fringe and marginal candidate, and practically imperceptible in the polling, except that he was publicly known, which would also mean he'd have been committing "PR suicide."

If your objective was to cause your fellow posters to recognize that your posts don't matter at all and should probably just be skipped over, how many people have to tell you your mission is accomplished in order for you to stop posting your nonsense?

I only care about you, Tim, so I hope you start resisting to reply with your wisdom :jesus:

You know, I've always wondered how one goes about getting employed as a Russian troll? It could be a decent side gig for some extra income.

Of you want to get paid for it move to St Petersburg. Otherwise you're a useful idiot.

I can't just do it from the comfort of my own home and still get paid? Maybe I'll contact the Russian embassy in the US for more information...

When you fix Canada, get back us. I suggest that you go preach political revolution there and test your success where you actually have say. Its very easy to shout "It's evil and we need change! Rise up" for places where you have no say, l have no influence, and have never lived (most likely). Do you post on English speaking Russian forums advocating the over throw of Putin?

Advocating how to change other places is kinda like trying to do social work for families you've never met and have not been assigned to work with, but on a much bigger scale. Of course you are welcome to your opinions, and constructive ideas can be helpful. There are a lot of those here. Fixing nations is like fixing families, but on a gargantuan scale. Sort out all those Canadian issues first and then get back to us with your "revolutionary" ideas. Thanks.
