Russiagate was about the Russians stealing mostly harmless e-mails and then using them in an orchestrated fashion to dominate the news cycles in favor of Donald Trump, which was a pretty slick plan, and whether they coordinated that plan with Donald Trump's campaign or just ran it independently.

Actually, it's because that's what people do. They die. If we "carry on as normal" about eight people in a thousand will die this year. If we flail mightily, disrupt the economy, make ourselves miserable...about eight people in a thousand will die this year. Some will die from corona virus who might well have died from something else. Maybe, with this corona virus thing, it will be 8.13 instead of 8.12, but in the grand scheme of things no one really has any good reason to even care, much less panic.

I feel like the Democratic electorate's relationship with Bernie Sanders got to the heavy petting stage and then everyone snapped out of it and ran home to their old steady boyfriend that was guaranteed never to hurt them. Like a lot of people just flirted with some socialism but that's as far as they could take it and in the end broke for what they know. I don't know how else to explain the discrepancies between the polling and actual votes.

People were looking for a Trump beater. Biden's crash in the polls never coincided with gains by Sanders. The coinciding gains were all Bloomberg, who was running strictly on beating Trump and even said the only reason he got in the race was because he was afraid that Biden couldn't beat Sanders and Sanders couldn't beat Trump, and Buttigieg. But Bloomberg didn't enter in South Carolina, and South Carolina dispelled the idea that Biden couldn't beat Sanders. So in three days, which was too fast to be caught in polling, all that support that Biden had lost to Bloomberg snapped back to Biden. Buttigieg saw the writing on the wall and ducked, so his support snapped over to Biden. Klobacher also ducked and actively directed her support onto Biden. There's been no real movement across the lanes at all...Sanders' increases have just been consolidation in his own lane as Warren fell off.
