They've been acting like Trump is going to lose since the early summer. That's why they're shooting down stimulus and rushing through this judge and as others have reported, now some would-be GOP presidential candidates are even touring New Hampshire and other early primary states.

Would it definitely? There's been bills drafted for DC representation. The worst that could happen would be the legislation giving all six populated territories representation might be challenged and overturned later on.

The worst that can happen is that DC and PR become states for a few months or years and then a reactionary SCOTUS decides to strip them of statehood. They might even move to invalidate any legislation that passed solely due to the DC/PR delegations. It sounds apocalyptic but you cannot put it past the Robert's court, especially a 6-3 Robert's court. The Democrats basically have no choice but to counter-pack the court at this point.

Yesterday the Dems in the Senate kicked out all the cameras and reporters to have closed-session 'frank conversation' about Barret and I have a hunch that Schumer leveled with the GOP about the grenade they were throwing themselves on by pushing for this nomination.

Just remember that eventually the GoP will win another election and even they have abused the rules but didn't go nuclear in terms of making up new justices to get the numbers.

Because they didn't have to. That's literally the only reason why they didn't do it.

Ajit Pai's FCC has been pushing through all kinds of other sketch stuff because they've become a captured regulator. Pai recently approved a license for a satellite system which would overlap with GPS signals and cause all kinds of issues. The application for this license has been previously denied several times but the base company keeps reforming and trying again until they finally lucked out with Pai. It's notable that here too the DoD vehemently protested the application.

The work-around is this: bifurcate DC into government buildings and residential/commercial buildings. The government buildings remain the nation's capital while the rest become the new state.

This was exactly what House Democrats did in the recent Washington, Douglass Commonwealth Act.

Going this route means we don't need a constitutional amendment excluding of course reactionary rulings from the Supreme Court.

Yea I dont care if Antifa tries to shut down nazi speech. I do not speak for antifa and someone already covered that antifa is not an organization and thus does not have formal policies or members. Well, I will not be doing anything; my thoughts are concerning the transition. The transition from Clinton to W. Bush was rather contentious as I recall, but Bush was magnanimous in the transition to Obama, and I think the Obama-Trump transition was also smooth from Obama’s end in being cooperative with the incoming Republicans.
