83% of US doctors considering quitting because of Obamacare

Flat screen televisons are cheaper than health care why? Because the government doesn't distort the flat screen televsion market to the extent that it does the health market. The more money the Federal government spends on health care, the more expensive it gets and the less its worth. Its a rule.

That fails to explain why fully government health care is so much better and cheaper than the US private sector in almost every chance it's been tried.

I've no idea if this is correct or not, since you rarely provide sources for your statements.

But assuming it is true, one thing you must consider is that right now Medicare is restricted from certain cost-cutting things like bargaining for lower costs with providers.

For the same reason a yacht is more expensive than a postage stamp. Completely unrelated things don't have a correlation in their prices.

Tell Obama to stop wasting money on pointless wars in the Middle East so we can fund it.

Pretty much that's been my position on the Iraq war from the start, and the Afghan war for quite a while now.

There are plenty of things we could do with that kind of money besides kill people.

This doesn't even make any sense. It seems to be both a truism and self-contradictory.

Please elaborate.

So more medical supplies increase expence?

Please tell me the maths behind that.:twitch:

Where money is spend is vital to efficeintcy, efficeintcy cannot be without the money.

I would agree to that completely as well. Foreign wars are always expensive and frequently unnecessary.

Actually, the government does distort the price of plasma TVs, which is why they've been cheaper than LCD. The government has been liquidating stockpiles of helium from the national helium reserve, but doing so at an arbitrary cost which is well below the cost of actually producing helium.

How much education does it take to work at a flat screen tv plant?

There's even worse news, too:

What are your reactions? It seems to me that the new healthcare situation is corrupting the current situation even more. I for one will not consider entering medical school at all, with the new healthcare system evolving.

I apologize for any errors; I'm posting via mobile.

It seems to me that medical schooling should *gasp* be free to all deserving applicants, along with all fields of higher education. I would think that there would be a lot more doctors that would not have to struggle to pay off exorbitant schooling loans, leading to more doctors and less gouging.

Like in Europe!

oh wait...

Alcohol was cheaper before they shut down the government alcohol shops in Washington state. Now it's like 10% - 30% more expensive thanks to your free market.

Hahahah, yeah, it's the free market's fault.

Look, it's the taxes you have to pay on alcohol, alcohol licenses, etc.

In FL, our alcohol is way cheaper.

Just because you got rid of the state monopoly doesn't mean it must default to cheaper... the associated fees that replaced the state monopoly wiped out those savings...

Last year MD instituted a 9% "sin tax" on alcohol. It's a completely ********, regressive tax in multiple ways. A property tax would be a nice change, considering how retardedly expensive property here is already.

Sin taxes are good. You may consider them regressive, but perhaps they should be.
Overwhelmingly, the ones with addictions that cause severe problems are the lower socio-economic... cause or effect, you decide, not here to argue that.

If we make alcohol harder for them to afford, is that a bad thing?

Also, the amount of trouble/expenses caused by alcohol related incidents, which the state often flips the tab for, justify it as well... including increased health care costs.

Alcohol, cigarettes, dip, etc... they all have heavy taxes applied. Adding 9% is just adding to what was already there.

Do sin taxes actually have a demonstrated impact on alcohol addiction? There are certainly enough counties with high taxes on alcohol that the data should be available to you, if you care to make the case.
