How about merging Abyssinia and Ethiopia? I always thought that two is same civilization.

That was brought to the attention of Zappara many times in threads, but it seems like whenever I did that, it was good weather in Finland. I am not claiming/promising anything, but I can take a look at it after I am done with the Herculean task of updating the Mega Civ Pack (i.e. RoM-izing Civ Gold).

Anyways, I am downloading half a gig of LHs, Civs, and Civ Gold as a start to this. The groundbreaking has started.

Just a religion suggestion: Nahuatl (not naghualism...) should be founded by Sacrifice Cult and not Calendar. The entire religion is based around spilling blood to feed the gods (mostly by sacrifice, and/or flower wars), not the calendar. I understand that at Sacrifice Cult [SC] it would be a very early religion (up there with Kemetism, Hinduism) but for the sake of accuracy, Calendar is way off. You could just push the tech back a little, maybe even put SC after Polytheism since the Aztecs were polytheists.

Sorry to be a pain. I have just installed patch H, I love the keyboard short-cuts as opposed to using the mouse when playing Civ4 but it seems the short-cut <Z> isn't working when trying to enable auto promote, I actually have to click the icon under the unit to enable it. If I click <Z> my mouse pointer becomes a hand, not sure what it does, I tried to look into the command list(F12) but could not find a reference to <Z>. My guess is that key is already used for something else though.

EDIT: Ok I've discovered that Z allows you to scroll-drag the map with your mouse.

Thanks again Afforess. I should have checked first to see if my version was out of date.

This is a horrifyingly fantastic mod

On the far right side of the section of the Tech Tree is Mass Transit which gives Highway improvement. (1/4 move cost).

On the far -left- side is Railroad which gives the railroad improvement (1/10 move cost).
(see screenshot)

Considering how much later you get Mass Transit versus Railroad, the Highway improvement needs to either moved somewhere between Paved Roads and Railroad...or thrown out. (Although my preference would be to move it, since it's a REALLY long gap between them on the longer modes.)

Eternity Speed FTW! :D

Ya i noticed this two, But i pushed it off because i figured that if you did not have coal/oil (which seems almost impossible) you could then make the highway roads so you are not at a complete loss

AND as a stand-alone mod sounds like a great idea, but what about the rest of RoM?

Basic answer? Develop modding skills :). But for first few future versions of other modmods of RoM will be compatible with 1.75, I suspect. After that, you or someone need to develop modding skills to make whatever to be compatible with AND 1.75 :).

AND as a stand-alone mod sounds like a great idea, but what about the rest of RoM?

AND will be built off of RoM, and most of it's core features - units, buildings, etc will remain unchanged. I suspect most users who aren't modders will hardly notice the difference, other than a larger download size.

Do you have plan to "trim" buildings? It's good chance to get rid of not-so-useful buildings. :)
Will BuildingUpgradeChanges and Early/Civic Buildings be separated modules of AND itself?

Early and Civic buildings are staying as gameoptions. Why, are there specific buildings you think need removed?

Actually, I prefer many buildings, so I don't have any complains with it. :mischief:
I just want to hear opinions since it seems that many people think there are too many buildings.
Maybe opening new thread is more appropriate to discuss this.

When I said "too many" I just meant Sports and few (read one or two) BUC buildings. But for BUC, I'm more looking at Afforess going through BUC with high-precision airbrush and tweak stuff, so I'm not worried. What AND without Sports is now is just perfect for me :). I only will ever use Early/Civic and Castle buildings when I ever go play Snail speed, that's it. :) Everything else are playable at Marathon.

Afforess, are you ABSOLUTELY satisfied that AI understand Realistic Cultural Spread? If you said emphatically yes, then I will shut up about that :). Because I use AI Governor Worker option myself and was wondering :).

Ok, one thing I can't figure out -- temples going obsolete and needing to be rebuilt??

So I've adopted Kemetism. I've built the temple and monastery in all my cities. And the Temple of Isis, Osiris, Mut, etc. in a few of them. Then I discovered education. Suddenly I'm able to add the Temple back to my queue (like it went obsolete and then can be added?).

Very strange. I think it's something in the upgrade chains, but I can't seem to track it down. I know monasteries upgrade to public school with education...but I don't think that would have an impact on the temple. And it could be a different tech triggering it...I need to look more. But it's strange

That's why I'm wondering if it's something with the upgrade path...maybe there's a "replaced buildings" tag in there that's impacting it or a pre-cursor (and not the obsolescence tag...)

i have a CTD problem with A New Dawn v1.74 (Patch H). i have no additional modifications added to the original except the QuibinG Ethnic unit pack v1.4. the CTD happens on save game load. i have attached an archive of my Rise of Men Mod folder including two save games (of which one loads perfectly and one crashes) the one that crashes is just couple of turns after the save game that loads. i have pushed ingame all the way to the modern era and up to this point game worked like a charm... i love this Modmod so if this issue can be solved... i would greatly appreciate it.

thx...
