Altered Maps XII: Not to Scale

Yes. Scandinavia rises a few millimetres every year due to ice melting.

What about the part in which he becomes president of Spain and names a peninsula after him? Have you guys read that?

I have. And I share your feelings.

I started a free hand drawn 1391 Europe map several months ago. I abandoned the project because I had other stuff to do, but I picked up the paces and Im almost complete. I penned the outline of Europe a few months ago. Now I've finished the country borders with pencil. Its not the most accurate map, but If you see major mistakes please say so, Im going to pen it tomorrow. I used several sources, including the MEIOU map. After I pen the borders Im going to color in the small nations (SCREW YOU HRE) and draw flags in bigger nations. I've skewed the contrast so you can see the pencil marks better.

Very nice map!
I just noticed, Navarra in Paradox games has access to sea for gameplay purposes but in reality its a landlocked region.

As for those last comments, I say to you that when the day comes when I'm president of Spain, I'll open here at OT a thread called 'Ask the president of Spain' and will quote these comments, just to have the last laugh.

WTH happened to Great Brittain? Did it take steroids?

This guy is really dangerous.

PS: The Kingdom of Navarre had acess to the sea.

A few mistakes? This roided up version of Great Britain isn't what I'd call a negligible mistake.

I know it isn't, but I for some odd reason did Britain with pen directly, so it was too late to fix it when I realized the mistake.

The outline of Europe was from my memory, I didn't look at any image. Most Greek and Danish islands were added later on as I looked at a detailed map of Europe. But I used MEIOU for the country borders.

Those Med islands. :shake:

At least the Iberian Peninsula needs a tad bit of work. Navarra should be bigger, and the southern blob be more defined, and Valencia goes a bit too much into Murcia. And Britain and all, but well. Anyway, minor mistakes except Britain.

And yeah, great job if it was from memory. I wouldn't have much problems except with Britain and Scandinavia, methinks. Except lots of time correcting when done with the outline.

What is really nice about this map is the proportions. I mean, you can know the littlest cape, bay and peninsula of the coastline, but, it is very easy to do it wrong in terms of scaling.
And it really looks like made with memory, loking at the catalan-french border for instance.

It is done, I know most of the mistakes, Brittany should expand a bit more south, the HRE has a few tiny errors. It is done now since I've penned it.

Alea iacta est, then. You could have corrected some like, dunno, Tiny Navarra, but it's mostly good. Great, actually.
