Here is a good link to create a map of all of the states in the U.S. that you have visited. Red is for states you have only seen a little of, orange is for states you've spent the night in and seen some of, blue for states you've spent a lot of time in, and green for states you've lived in. http://www.defocus.net/visitedstates/generate.html

Please note: The file on the website expires after about an hour, so please save the image to your computer and then upload it.

Here's mine:

The streak through the center is clear evidence of multiple cross-country road trips.

For me the colors are basically:
red: visited but haven't slept in
orange: spent less than a week in
blue: Maryland: never slept there but have been to many times
green: lived in or have stayed in for weeks at a time

Honorable mention: DC. Same as with Maryland.

Edit: I edited in the map I posted later into this post since the img got deleted.

Man of color

I could add north eastern, central eastern Mexico and Ontario as blue.

Major League Baseball Stadiums I've visited:

Candlestick Park | San Francisco, CA
AT&T Park | San Francisco, CA
O.Co Coliseum | Oakland, CA
Angels Stadium | Anaheim, CA
Busch Stadium (old) | St. Louis, MO
Metrodome | Minneapolis, MN
Nationals Park | Washington, DC
Camden Yards | Baltimore, MD
Yankee Stadium (old) | New York, NY

Next places I need to go: Seattle, Chicago, and Boston. I'd like to go see Chavez Ravine, Petco, SAFECO, and Chase Field; they're all relatively close by and should be easier to get to. When I get a car and some money I want to do a large-scale baseball stadium tour, which would be: KC->StL->Chicago->Chicago->Milwaukee->Detroit->Cleveland->Cincinnati->Pittsburgh, or maybe something along those lines but less...insane.

Virginia is standing in for D.C. cause for some reason D.C. isn't a separate state.

Kind of depressing :undecide:

@Joecoolyo: Don't worry, opportunities will come along. Just make sure you take them when you can.

I also can't see some of the maps above, looks like the temporary hosting cut out. :(

Yeah, generic East Ahmurikan here.

  • Green - I've lived in each of these states for at least a year or two. Longest time spent in OH, GA, and in third MA.
  • Blue - lived in NY for just over two months (internship), also visted NYC twice on separate occasions.
  • Yellow - I've been to these states at least a couple times, usually on conferences but my surviving grandparent moved to PA. My parents also took us on vacations in Appalachia as kids. Maryland is gold only because I'm using it as a stand-in for DC.
  • Red - single conference there, or an old road trip/vacation.

*I didn't count states I've only driven through once or twice, otherwise the entire eastern seaboard except for Maine has to be included. To fully reflect transit, I've spent quite a lot of time in layovers in Salt Lake City.

EDIT: @SuperBeaverInc.: How long have you spent trekking around out west in the US? Did you do a grand tour or something?

To make up for my embarrassing lack of international travel, I've actually seen quite a bit of the US.

I have lived in Ohio, Washington DC, Indiana, Arizona, Louisiana, California and Illinois. I have spent extensive time in Utah and Wisconsin (family), and have driven through and spent time in every southern state.

There is more than a puncher's chance that I move to either NC or Washington DC by January. I'm hoping my next travel plans involve the pacific northwest. Gotta color in a few more states.

I have also been to Ontario and Quebec.

I added Ontario.

EDIT: @SuperBeaverInc.: How long have you spent trekking around out west in the US? Did you do a grand tour or something?

Spent a lot of time travelling throughout the western US when I was younger with my parents.

Washington was mostly day trips to Seattle or travelling through on the way south, but overall a lot of time has been spent there.

Oregon I've spent a ton of time in. I actually could probably turn that one green. Spent a few long vacations along the coast.

California is where I have an uncle, who I visited in LA before. Pretty sure I went to Disneyland on two seperate occasions. Also spent some time in San Francisco and a couple of trips to San Diego.

Arizona, my grandparents used to spend the winter there, so I spent a few Christmases down there.

Nevada I've taken vacations to Vegas a few times.

Idaho, mostly staying up around Coeur d'Alene.

Other western states is mostly just travelling through or spending a day or two there. Utah and Montana were basically just driven through to get to Arizona. Wyoming, North Dakota, and South Dakota were on a trip with my dad in which we went through there, saw Yellowstone, Devil's Tower, and Mount Rushmore, then back up into Saskatchewan through ND.
