I thought Cheezy works as a cook.
I like paying taxes too, I don't work for the state.

Wow. Just so wow. Are you seriously defending the Barre regime?
Are you not to going to respond to my rebut several pages ago and the points raised by other people?
Jesus Christ this conversation with the somewhat-psuedo-possibly-anarchist is absolutely hilarious!
Good show!
Obvious statement is obvious.
And they also forced him to get a Political Science degree, which is one of the most useless degrees out there! It's not like they ever gave him a choice as to what he wanted to study!

Look. I just told you what an idiot I was. How much do I need to add? I knew what it meant then and I do now. Marxists are idiots and I am ashamed to say that I was once so stupid.
2 things: First of all I was just copying the title of the article I linked adding "and racist" to it. I report, you decide. Second thing is that what you're saying kind of misses the point. The study shows that low intelligence causes right wing views; if you're stupid, you're more likely to be a right winger than a left winger. Now, this does imply that right wingers are, on average, more stupid than left wingers (if you assume there's a 50/50 split between right and left). But the study actually shows us something stronger than a mere correlation. It shows a causal link between low intelligence and racist, homophobic, and right wing views. That's a much bigger deal, and arguing about whether "on average" is meaningful kind of misses the point. Now, now ... you're fighting ignorance with ignorance. "Right wingers are less intelligent and more racist than left wingers" is not the same as "Right wingers tend to be less intelligent and more racist than left wingers," and the difference is very much the same ill that right wingers tend to stamp on minority groups ('black people iz dumb and violent becuz there iz so many black raepsists in prizon,' 'becuz there wuz this gay guy who raept a kid, all gay guys raep kidz,' etc.)
Don't prejudge and condemn a group ... I know it is human nature, as unfortunately I tend to find myself commiting prejudism as I backlash about the majority powers-that-be, but -- speaking as a liberal myself who agrees that conservatives do tend to not think things through as much as liberals tend to -- the statement 'conservatives are less intelligent than conservatives' falsely and hypocritically prejudges every conservative as being less intelligent than every liberal. I view conservatism, as practiced today and for quite a few decades, as unwise ... but I know a number of conservatives who are quite intelligent with a variety of academically impressive knowledge or skills.
This is an interesting hypothetical. In some alternate universe, where stupidity causes left wing views rather than right wing views, would left wing papers publish a study discovering this truth? In this bizarro, mirror universe, where stupid people weren't more likely to become right wingers, would the left wing media report this? I don't know the answer to that. And it will always be a hypothetical question, seeing as stupidity leads to right wing political views. But it's worth considering.Isn't this [the OP article] just a great example of wishful thinking?
Also, it shows how much more balanced right-wing newspapers are - could you imagine the huff post or the guardian publishing an article claiming that lefties weren't intelligent? Of course not, because freedom of speech and giving the opposing side a platform is something they don't understand.

Indeed, I'd like to extend the question: What would the world be like if stupidity didn't lead to homophobia or racism? Would the world be a better place if stupidity instead led to tolerance and acceptance of minority groups?
That's not a very prominent divergence in the UK, for whatever reason, so it's not quite the oversight it might seem to be.Forgot to answer this: yes, they only looked at social conservatives. That phrase was repeated quite a few times and I could find no references to economic right-wingers.
