Thanks all :) Time to fill it with threads, eh? I'll soon open up some for the main purposes, so please don't do it yourself, as I'd like to have the OP with general information for each.

Congratulation on the Sub-forum!

Tststs, this here is a beaurocracy, so this was actually fast!

:D

And congrats :).

I
I'll maybe need some threads stickied later on, I'll PM you about that then.

Please either PieceOfMind or me, or report the post which needs attention.
We need the admin time for stuff which we normal mods can't do, and this we can do ;).

And good further luck with your project :).

Alright, I'll do that. Thanks again :)

I think you should do a thread for each region:
1.Europe
2.Americas
3.Middle East
4.Africa
5.Asia

In addition a thread for certain timeperiods (this should be used regarding general comments and suggestion of a timeperiod):
6.Ancient: This one would be special since feedback on every Ancient Civilization can go here; this thread would really help the Ancient Civilizations which are often overlooked.
7.Middle Ages
8.Industrial

As the Forum develops, I think certain civilizations would be applicable for their own thread (China, Rome, Arabia, England, India, Russia come to mind). On second thought you could have them separate from the start and skip the regions thing altogether. I makes more sense this way.

Also I would recommend that you discourage people from making "useless" threads like some of the other mods (hint: RFCE); everything should run by you before being made. Just my opinion.

I wanted to see Synthesis in the sub-forum too; atleast until it develops long enough to be an independent mod. Right now many of the suggestion in Synthesis also apply here and vice versa.

Anyhow Congrats on the sub-forum :goodjob:

Add Mongolia to that list. And a definitely a religions thread.

The plan was to move Synthesis here, yes.

Was, as in no longer is?

I just thought of it and another idea would be to give every singe civilization in its own thread and the first post we can have brief information and playing guide for the civilization. (Since Leoreth would not be able to make playing guide for all civs, i suggest he let somebody else make a guide and he can edit the first post later on to include it). Here people would be able to make suggestions for the civilization and ask question on how to play them.

And I like that idea, if/ when we get people to write up such guides
Well, all you have to do is reserve the first post and ask people to post guides; after they do just edit the post and include them. People will only write guides if they see that they will go somewhere.

@ Leoreth and everybody else; here is my draft for the all the threads that should be included:

Every Civilization: This is for play testing, gameplay guides and domestic changes (add settlers, change core area etc):
China
Egypt
England
Russia
etc....

Regional Thread: This is to represent wars, diplomacy, conquerers events; thing that effect the entire region:

Old/Classical World: Greece, Egypt, Rome, Phoenicia, Babylon, Persia
Early Far East: China, Japan, Korea, India (also Persia when concerning its war/expansion in India)
Middle East: Arabia, Byzantine (when concerning M. East),Ottomans, Delhi Sultanate (when concerning Middle East),Safavids (Moors and Seljuks also when/if u add them)
Europe: Germany, Spain, France, England, Vikings, Byzantines ( when concerning Europe) Russia, Italy (Austria and Poland also when/if u add them)
Later Far East: China, Mongolia, Japan, Korea, Khmer, Thailand (when concerning Far East)
IndoChina: Later India, Delhi Sultanate, Marathas, Indonesia, Khmer,Thailand and anything concerning European Expansion in the region.
Americas: Maya, Inca, Aztecs, America
Africa: Mali, Ethiopia, Arabia, Moors?, European Expansion

Concepts/ Game Mechanics:
Religion
Corporation
Maps
(continental boundaries, city names etc)
Propositions (ideas that people present that should be added to the game; random example would be me saying add Persecuter system in this thread or Turk saying to add Puppet State feature. Stuff like that.

@Leoreth, Congrats on the subforum!

@J Pride, I don't think splitting comments for the same civ on different threads is a good idea. Perhaps it's better just to give each civ a separate thread.

@Everyone... I think I had asked already, but how do I do to play the new civs? I just SVN'd my folder and I can't find Italians, Iranians, Mughals, etc, on the "Choose Civ" screen at the beginning of the game!

You have to switch to them in game. For Italians, start as Inca and switch after three turns, for Iranians start as Dutch as switch the next turn.

Exactly. The Mughals are not meant to be played currently.

On the thread structure, I don't think we should split it up too much, this only results in threads that are dead most of the time. A suggestion thread makes sense, as well as separate threads for discussing the downloadable and SVN versions. I'll open them some time today.

Why not just if you have an idea or a problem, open a thread for it? I don't see why we need individual threads for every civ or whatever.

I agree. It makes sense to have a thread for miscellaneous things, and people are free to make new threads if they want to tackle something larger.

Nice..
I'll create a new thread then when I get Srivijayan scientist name.. :)

Btw,
I think my question haven't been answered yet.. have it?
"What if it's past 1505 and the Achaemenid Persia still alive and IS a strong Zoro empire?"

Oh, sorry. If a civ is already alive, it can't respawn, right? So it stays "Achaemenid", so to speak.
