DipNES 05 - Give One and Take Ten

neverwonagame, I believe, is Russia still.

@Never: Don't let the fact that I wish to play prevent you from playing yourself. If you truly wish to discontinue your play in this, I will indeed take up Russia.

Isn't this next update going to be purely build orders?

No. The next update might be, though, depending on how they're set up. The updates, that is.

1- Alright
2- No- that's the one after.
3- Fuschia, can you delete some PMs?

The update TUESDAY is MOVEMENT
The update WEDNESDAY is RETREATS/BUILDS

I go away thursday morning, and so if you could all check in after the update is posted, to retreat if necessary so we can get the builds done, that would be really cool.

I dont intend to do that. and from the orders I have seen so far (2/9), this turn will be interesting. and all the problems from last turn have so far been fixed

That's alot of NMRs, j_eps

deadline isnt for another day and a bit, but if all the orders come in early, I update. that way we can deal with retreats if necessary. 3/9 in. also, VERY interesting turn. as in, I have no ****ing clue what is going on in the backrooms. but it looks cool. and i can guess, but would be very wrong.

Deadline (official time) is TUESDAY AUGUST 19th AT 6:00 PM EST! (GMT-5)

All right, all press responded and all orders sent. Austria is fun!

Orders due sometime today, and I still need
ITALY
ENGLAND

to send orders in.

Fall 1901

EUROPE AT WAR!
Though previously Russia and Germany had confronted each other in Prussia, nowhere else had there been fighting until now. Every single nation in Europe is now fighting. France is fighting Spain, while Italy and Austria are at war. England is fighting Norway, who, along with Russia, is fighting Germany. Russia is also fighting Turkey. For now, Africa and Ireland are remaining peaceful, though it is unknown whether this shall continue.

THE NORTHERN WAR
The Norwegians sent their Danish fleet to the North Sea, expecting to encounter an English fleet. However, they saw that the North Sea was empty, as the North Sea Fleet had in fact invaded Norway. The Norwegian Army is now retreating throughout Scandinavia. The English are now feeling threatened as Edinburgh, Yorkshire, and London are all at risk of falling to the Norwegians.

LOW COUNTRIES INVADED
Belgium and the Netherlands were invaded and conquered by the French and Germans, respectively. Though they had declared themselves neutral, the two powers saw too many economic benefits to be gained by conquering the two nations.

FRANCE IN SHAMBLES, SPAIN MARCHES ON
After a daring assault on Navarre by the French Army was repulsed, Spain counterattacked into France, seizing Marseilles and Brest. The French Army's General Picquart has been sacked, and Alfred Dreyfus has taken over the reins of the French Military.

NORWEGIAN INVASION OF GERMANY
A Norwegian fleet based in the Baltic invaded and conquered Prussia, aided by two Russian Army divisions. German armies, who were attempting to re-conquer Prussia at the same time were pushed back, with minimal damage. Alfred Graf von Schlieffen, Chief of Staff of the German Military, has sworn revenge on the "verdammt" Norwegians and Russians.

ITALY GOES NOWHERE
An Italian invasion of Trieste resulted in complete disaster for the Italians, and an attempt to conquer Greece was repulsed as well, as Greece was taken by the hated Austrians. An Italian was heard cursing the Turks, who he had supposed would be helping the Italians enter Greece.

BALKANS DIVIDED FURTHER
Austria and Turkey have completed the division of the Balkans. Russia has been forcibly evicted from Rumania by the Turks, while the Austrians moved southwards. It is unknown whether or not the two are collaborating, however Austria has conquered Albania, Serbia, and Greece, while the Turks have conquered Bulgaria and Rumania.

RETREATS:
RUSSIA: F rum (may retreat to sev or disband)
NORWAY: A nwy (may retreat to fin or swe or disband)

Please get these orders in ASAP so we can have the builds done by tomorrow.

OFFENSES: IF YOU WANT TO HOLD [supermath], SAY HOLD.

NOTES: If qoou hadn't sent orders in 30 minutes before the deadline, the tentative orders from Dachs would have succeeded a lot more than this.

BUILDS:

Austria:2
England:1
France:-1
Germany:2
Italy:0
Norway:0/1 (0 if retreat, 1 if disband)
Russia:0/1 (0 if retreat, 1 if disband)
Spain:2

So you can get your build orders into me at any time, though it is imperative that the retreats come in ASAP

Seems France, Russia, and Norway are essentially out of the game...
----

The army shall be disbanded, not retreated. Some hasty diplomacy will be needed to figure out what my build orders should be.

nobody is dead quite yet.

nobody is dead quite yet.
lurker's comment: It ain't over till it's over. The great Richard Sharp once came back from having only one province to win the game. Though that might have been just for the sake of argument in that one article...well, it's certainly possible anyway. 'Dead' countries simply need to conduct more active diplomacy.
