Escape From Zombie Island 2 ready for public consumption

I open the GIF in animation shop, copy each frame one at a time, paste it in Paint Shop Pro 5, decrease the colour depth to 256 colour, load a pallete, resize it, paste it on to a storyboard, and repeat.

i haven't found a way to change the GIF straight into a civ-compatible flic, but all those infinitum units are too big for civ scale so they have to be resized.

You'll need Banner Maker (the shareware/demo version is enough).

1. Open Banner Maker
2. Tools > Animated GIF frames extractor
3. Open > the GIF > Check All > Save All > BMP format > Ok
4. Create a new folder structure (I've got an automated batch file for this) :
Code:
Animations folder
-----E
-----N
-----NE
-----NW
-----S
-----SE
-----SW
-----W
5. Sort your BMPs
6. Rename your BMPs in each folders, starting with 0000.bmp (ACDSEE can do this automatically, select all files and press F2)
7. Open SBB
8. Single Unit Storyboard > Main source > Select your E\0000.bmp
9. Make sure that all orientations are checked by default. If not, you've made an error somewhere.
10. Change the final size.
11. Generate.

There, you've got your storyboard. You'll just need to replace the grey by pink transparency (two click job in GIMP); create the palette and import it in Civ3FLC.

Update : You can replace the gray colour by pink in SBB directly. Put 170/170/170 in the first colomns of "Colors" and 255/0/255 in the second.

It took me some time to figure out what that was... I think it's a "volcano" errupting (I presume that a lot of pollution appeared around the building after this?). I would hate to have bought an apartment in a building like that :)
Seriously, though... isn't there some way to disable volcano erruptions?

edit: or maybe this could be used in some way??? Something about something igniting spontaneously?

Yes it is indeed a volcanic eruption - Residential Property terrain is based on the volcano terrain. I think the effect looks quite nice. If you look in the Disasters tab (Scenario Properties) in the editor you will find the settings for volcanic eruptions if you want to tinker with them.

You'll also see I put in "A Mutated Form of Zombie Virus" to replace Plagues but I eventually decided to leave this out of the scenario.

In any form, I hate plagues...

I assumed it was a volcano re-graphiced(word coinage?)...I just thought it was funny, that a building started spewing flames and lava...someone musta left the stove on...

The graphic is by Juul so I best give him the full credit but the lava is the plain vanilla lava you would see from a normal volcano.

I agree with you Spacer One about plagues; I'm not their biggest fan either; at least not for this scenario but you can't underestimate their impact on human history. Isn't it scary to think a third of Europe's population was once killed by the Black Death? And inflluenza has killed more people than all the wars in human history. Kind of puts a hypothetical zombie virus into perspective.
