Ferguson

I'm not saying the Grand Jury got it wrong - I'm saying the Prosecutor knowingly let a pro-cop "witness" give information even though he knew that she was lying about being at the scene. The Prosecutor admitted it when directly confronted about it. Change spiracy to fession and you get a bit closer.

Ah...so correct result, bad process?

In my opinion, yes. If I had a loved one that was killed by someone else, even if I thought the killing was in self defense, I surely would not want a prosecutor to bring in a witness that wasn't even there for the purpose of testifying she was there and then giving a pro-killer account. There is just no justifiable reason for it.

What about the construction worker that testified? I do not recall seeing the media pick this women up, but CNN plastered the construction worker all over the front pages showing his video that MIchael Brown had his arms up.

When he testified he started off with saying Michael Brown told him to let the lord Jesus help him and then went on to say Brown was being chased by three officers, turned around and put his hands up, then one of the them walked up and shot him.

Why was he allowed to testify when his version didnt match anything?

For those who don't know, an NAACP office in Colorado was bombed yesterday. Goes to show the kind of people we're dealing with...

Mainstream media has been largely silent about it, but there's a few articles out there.

The people who bombed the NAACP office are no more representative of the pro-police side of the issue any more than those who are shooting police officers in "revenge attacks" for the grand jury decision are representative of the those protesting against the police.

So if you are going to say the bombers are showing "the kind of people we are dealing with" then it is only fair to say the same about those shooting police officers right now.

Assuming much? Whoever bombed the NAACP are representative of themselves. And they are the kind of people we're dealing with because most "pro-police" types aren't doing anything that needs to be dealt with. Maybe I didn't make it clear.

Also, I take issue with calling them "pro-police." #BlackLivesMatter is not anti-police on the whole, so there's no logical clash, while in reality, there evidently is a clash.

Fair enough. I have just seen so much intellectual dishonesty and cognitive dissonance on all sides of this issue that I guess I've just come to assume the worst in every comment on the issue.

Kind of getting ahead of your self saying the words "bombing" or "people". There was an explosion outside a NAACP build what did little to no damage to the build it self. Hell there's been more "bombings" at my house if that's the way we are using the word now.

At the most, this is some home grown idiot who failed to do what many teenagers have done before this.

One of the grand jurors is suing for the right to speak out about the grand jury proceeding - claiming the prosecutor has been fairly misleading in his public statements.

FWIW there was a can of gasoline placed next to it. The FBI said somewhere that if it had ignited, it would have been much worse. As it is, it's not the biggest disaster to ever strike, but it should be worrying that this is evidently now on the menu, and there may be more competent people out there plotting the same kind of thing.

Justice Department said ready to clear Ferguson officer: N.Y. Times

(Reuters) - The U.S. Justice Department is about to close the investigation into the shooting death of an unarmed black teenager in Ferguson, Missouri, and clear the white police officer involved of any civil rights charges, The New York Times reported on Wednesday.

The newspaper quoted law enforcement officials as saying that federal prosecutors had begun work on a legal memo recommending no civil rights charges against the officer, Darren Wilson, after an FBI investigation found no evidence to support charges against him.

My predictions -
  • Riots causing more property damage just "because"
  • Neither Holder nor Obama will apologize for their role in fanning the flames
  • Morons will continue to point to the shooting in Ferguson as an example of police brutality

I don't know, we seem to have clever protestors. :mischief:

1) Put a pipe through a barrel.
2) Have 2 protestors reach into the pipe and handcuff one to the other.
3) Fill the barrel with 600 pounds of cement.
4) Sit 2 protestors and one 600 pound cement barrel in the middle of an interstate and dare the police to remove them.

GENIUS!

Link to video.

Cut their arms off?
Break their shoulders manhandling the impossibly heavy barrel?
Forklift?

Erm, that's actually really brave.

Get a few officers to push them off to the side of the road and leave them there.

Then bolt the barrel to the ground so they can stay out of the way all they like.

This one seems really bad, all caught on the dashboard camera, had his empty hands up. One of the police is black, as they say "don't let it be a black and a white one, Cause they'll slam ya down to the street top, Black police showin out for the white cop".

From the beeb:

A video has been released which shows a black man being shot dead by US police officers as he stepped out of a car with his hands raised.

Jerame Reid was a passenger in a car pulled over by police in Bridgeton, New Jersey, for going through a stop sign.

Before opening fire, one officer warns his partner about seeing a gun.

...

However, one of the two officers involved in the Bridgeton altercation is black.

The newly released footage from a police dashboard camera shows police approach the car and then an officer warning his colleague about seeing a gun in the glove compartment.

An officer shouts at Jerame Reid to show his hands and warns him that: "If you reach for something, you're going to be... dead."

After the officer reaches into the car to retrieve what appears on the video to be a handgun, the car door opens and Jerame Reid steps out with his empty hands raised to his shoulders.

At that moment, the two officers fired several shots.
