Firaxis Livestream - Wednesday Aug 3 at 1pm PT (4pm ET/10pm CET)

new overlay to show housing, very helpful for settling decisions (invalid city settling locations are color coded red)

Civ colors don't match their First Look video colors since the press build is 1 month old, and the dev team took another pass at civ colors to look at the civ's historical coat of arms or flags.

Brazil's colors in the live stream were simply ported over from Civ V, and their final colors will be different (matching that in the First Look video presumably).

Drama and Poetry civic quote is

"Poets have been mysteriously silent on the subject of cheese." -GK Chesterton.

What a weird quote. Instead of elevating drama and poetry we get a snarky quote more suited to a water cooler conversation than a game of Civ. =|

@thecrazyscot did they explain what triggers founding the religion? Did they pick a great prophet or just accumulate faith?

they showed it. seems pretty similar to civ 5, use a prophet and pick 2 beliefs.
Difference from civ5 is that the religious buildings are now their own class of belief (worship belief), so where in Civ5 you'd pick two follower beliefs, now you pick one follower and one worship.

Accumulating enough Great Prophet points allows you to buy a Great Prophet.

You only need a Great Prophet, which is won by accumulating Great Prophet points (in this case, they used a policy to get +2 extra points, thus enabling them to get one more easily)

So you use the standard Great People system. So if I'm understanding correctly, future religions (not pantheons) will effectively become more expensive since Great People get more expensive over time.

I wish we would have been able to see a glimpse of the new religious combat system. Hopefully a future video will enlighten us more.
