That post has brought me from my almost permanent reader status to actually make a post. How are those Bruce statistics creepy? They simply coincide with the creation and popularity of Batman comics. This seems totally reasonable to me given the way popular culture affects baby names in the US.

That makes more sense. I was wondering why the number of children named "Bruce" declined so dramatically after the rise to prominence of Bruce Springsteen.

I don't know why it's creepy, but I know why it's funny. The chart looks like it has bat ears. The name is Bruce. That's a pretty impressive event when you realize that pure chance caused it.
Pure chance as in that batman managed to somehow make the chart look like that.
Without social engineering to make it happen, it's near impossible.
