Depends on your workplace. Most private companies do not give workers off and at least in NJ the state workers do not get off anymore.

- new beginnings
- generous stipends

Loads of potatoes, ham and all that stuff…

Well no. I eat ham if I’m at home. Everyone else does the traditional turkey thing; I’m eating at my grandmother’s this year.

Well, still have tons of potatoes and deviled eggs.

I will be left home alone though – as all the females of the family(and they’re the entire family besides me) like shopping, they’ll all be going to Black Friday. Ah well, I’ll entertain myself somehow!

Happy thanksgiving! My parents, my sister and her family, and I drove to my grandparents' house and spent the day there. I enjoyed playing frisbee with my niece and nephew out on my grandparents' sunny country lawn. Alas, that piece of cake I had for dessert seems to have given me stomach ails, so I'm going to settle in for the night. I'm thankful for the support of my friends in family in the past few months, as I transitioned to an active, healthy lifestyle -- one that has seen me gain in strength and actually meet most of my neighbors. I'm also thankful to have discovered a liberal religious community in my town (the local Episcopal church) where I can enjoy regular fellowship and help others without being hit on the head with a bible or have to listen to some bigoted self-appointed preacher screaming abuse against scientists and gays.
