I smoke semi-frequently(I think like 5-7 a day at this point).
Semi-frequently would be like 5 cigarettes a month. You're smoking a quarter pack a day. That's a full on habit.

I wouldn't consider somebody who smokes 5 times a month a smoker at all. And while semi-frequently is definitely understating it, there has to be a division between 5 a day and 20 or 40 a day. I know that it's by far the most unhealthy part of my life.

Plus I roll my own, which are much smaller, so in terms of premade cigarettes it's maybe 2-3 a day.

You're surprised that a bunch of nerds posting on a forum about a particularly nerdy game don't play a sport? Cmon man. Us sport players are the exception here.:p

Point taken . But at 38 I'm sorta past the whole nerd / non nerd thing . It's a pretty eclectic bunch here , just a pretty unsporting eclectic bunch .

Hang on ? I think I just agreed with you after all that.

And Civver , you're a smoker .

Diet: I sometimes eat fresh vegetables. Fairly good diet overall. Juice every day. (2)
Sleep: I usually get 6-7 hours of sleep. (1)
Drugs: Caffeine on a regular basis. Little alcohol at times. (5)
Exercise: Has gone down a lot the last few years. Work out 1-2 times/week. Will pick it up slightly in the spring. (2)
Activity: Mostly sitting at work. (1)

I once was a 3, but now I'm a 2.

Based on the last five weeks I'm at 4, maybe 4.5 I eat fresh fruit every day, avoid junk food, go to the gym 6 days a week and haven't had any alcohol (though I will still drink occassionally like this weekend when I'm going to visit my parents). Pretty much the opposite of what I was doing before, when I was probably around a 1.

Diet: We generally have vegetables with dinner in one form or another, and I'm always snacking on dried fruits that don't have sulfur. I drink lots of water, milk, and juice. Rarely soda except for special occasions. (3)
Sleep: As a teenager I love my sleep. I get around 8-9 hours of sleep on average. (3)
Drugs: I have never drunk any alcohol. I have never taken any drugs, and I am on no medication. (5)
Exercise: It's winter, so I don't exercise a lot then. I take long walks if the weather is nice, and in spring, summer and fall I am outside often. (4)
Activity: Mostly sitting on my butt on my computer when I'm inside. If outside, I'm running around. (2)

Average = 3.4
Rounded it down to 3.

I'd say a strong 3 or a weak 4. I exercise daily (1-2 hours) and have a good diet, a combination that's let me lose over 100 pounds and is still working, even though the diet itself isn't conspicuous. I don't eat any fast food because of the salt content; I used to have high blood pressure, so I've become very conscious about salt. It's led to me eating fresher foods and cooking more, because ready-made meals and canned soups often contain more salt than we need on a daily basis. I drink water throughout the day except at meals, where I drink juice at breakfast and tea otherwise.

I sleep fairly well, going to bed around ten and waking up at seven. I don't have any physically deleterious habits.

I would almost consider myself a 0 except for that fact that I don't do any drugs and the like. So I am 1 right now, but that is a result of some health problems that I am hoping to get rid of and thus get myself back up the scale where I should belong. I should that smokers should automatically deduct one point from what they see themselves as, since it is really unhealthy.

I'm surprised how few posters play some kind of sport . I don't mean the gym or dog walking , but tennis , golf , water sports , football etc . You won't ever see me in the gym but I'd hope to regularly play some kind of sport till I finally keel over on the bowling green .

Well even for those of us that did play sports or used to be athletes, that takes time when you're older (I'm 30) that I just don't seem to have these days... I barely had time to play softball in my winter league and we could not get enough people to do our Spring season. With work & kids & family now it's hard for me to carve out a 3 hour chunk of time to play tennis or basketball or baseball or heck, even disc golf.

I'm a pretty healthy person. I play football every Tuesday, I go to the gym 3 times a week, I walk to and from work for 30 minutes each way every weekday, I eat at least 5 portions of fruit or vegetables every day, I don't smoke anymore and rarely drink, I tend to walk places instead of driving or taking public transport (mostly because it's cheaper), I eat white meat rather than red meat as a rule, I rarely eat ready meals anymore, I drink sugar-free drinks and use artificial sweeteners in my tea, I rarely drink coffee, and I get between 8 and 9 hours sleep every night, without exception. The only days that I don't get any structured exercise are weekends, but even then I usually walk at least 2 miles a day just doing shopping or visiting friends. I don't often spend the entire weekend in the house, but suppose I do on occasion.

I rated myself 4, because I do eat a lot of unhealthy foods, such as cakes, chocolates and pizzas.

1 based on the unfortunate fact that I suffer from 4 more or less serious cronical illnesses.
I live healthier than most people I know, it is simply not enough.

3. I don't really have any drug/alcohol usage, and I get decent sleep; I don't really have a lot of stress. I eat quite healthy nutrition wise (low salt/fat) but I may undereat calorie wise a tiny bit (I eat plenty, just I eat a lot of vegetables/fruits/not meat and those aren't exactly high calorie/volume). I should say I eat fine, but as a 19 year old male I should eat a little more than I do. I'm also lazy when I cook so I kind of eat whatever I have around, and day-to-day it can be very healthy or I can eat a bunch of snack foods when I'm too lazy to get other stuff (I don't have any microwaveable dishes though. I tend to cook in bulk, at least for a few meals). BMI has perpetually been in the healthy range, but always at near the border for the slight underweight.

part of the diet is that I haven't been exercising for a very long time now. I used to be skinny and run a lot (~6 miles/day). Now I'm just skinny but without the good abs. So I may eat a little less as I don't really get nearly as much activity. Dinner and breakfasts are the same, but I think I get smaller quicker lunches.

I do walk a good 2 miles a day or so. Not much, but it's something. I also don't have blood pressure problems or anything like that.

lack of exercise makes it a 3.

I'd just like to point out that, statistically, people who indulge in a few alcoholic drinks a week tend to be healthier than those that don't. I'm not sure if there's any reliable studies on illegal drugs, but I wouldn't be surprised to find that the odd joint every now and then helped people out too. Completely abstaining from drugs/alcohol is not inherently healthier than use in moderation.

EDIT: Poor science, yes. But I think it's worth injecting into the thread.

Oh yeah, I'm well aware, I was careful to word the OP to take that into consideration.

I'm pretty sure the whole red wine thing turned out to be a fraud.

You can still drink red wine for its own sake.

Yeah what Camikaze said. You know what my school's doctor's office asks whenever I come in for a visit "have you had any tobacco products in the last 30 days?" You don't smoke as much as a lot of people do, but you're still a full up smoker.

I am a very disgusting existence. No drugs, but that's about all I can say.
