How will you feel if Obama wins a second term?

How will a second Obama term make you feel?

Him or maybe Pierce. William Henry Harrison didn't accomplish much in his one month--his only presidential decision was putting Tyler in the office, who basically destroyed the Whig Party.

Anyone who thinks Bush or Obama is the absolute worst needs to read some 19th century history. They aren't the best, they might be unimpressive, but the floor is pretty low for the worst.

The measure of a good or bad president should be their legacy of what their policies left us. In that respect, Bush and Reagan are quite far down the list. And few presidents really deserve to be in the positives. We've had a lot of mediocrities.

If Barack "Fascist" Obama wins, I'll be extremely angry.

If Mitt "Dictator" Romney wins, I'll be extremely angry.

Lose-Lose.

Obama isn't a fascist, he's a communist-muslim.

As others have stated or implied on this very forum, Obama's actual record as president indicates otherwise.

Indifferent, as is becoming the US norm the choices are rotten so its hard to root for either option.

This is the second time today people could not tell I was joking, even though I thought it was as clear as day.

True, I'm arguing more against the hyperbole of "oh, he's the worst/best ever!" gut reaction statements. There's a bit of a recentism bias where your average straight-ticket voter loves always loves the last anointed one in the office (even if the myth doesn't line up with what he actually did, like Reagan).

Well yeah, by definition the average president will be mediocre.

It should be, but people on the street have an aversion to just saying average. People feel the need to say "good" or "bad", and it goes downhill from there.

I'd be very happy if Obama won a second term. He's honestly a huge inspiration for me, up there with people like Mahatma Gandhi and "My Dad" as people who make me want to be a better person.

On the other hand, Mitt Romney makes my skin crawl.

I think that is why many people object to Obama. They just don't like the notion of having positive role models. They would much rather have their kids get inspiration from leaders who claim one thing on Sunday but do just the opposite the other 6 days of the week.

Of course, many will also claim this has become true with Obama as well. But you don't hear that very often from those who are partisan. You usually hear just the opposite. That he is nowhere near as hypocritical as he should be.

I put "Pleased" only because I know it won't be Romney. I was Indifferent until the GOP basically cheated Ron Paul out of the delegates he did earn.

"Pleased" is properly translated "Less angry" not "Pleased":p

EDIT: Oh, this thread is two months old:p I found it while looking for old posts and didn't realize how old it was:)

I actually want Obama to win to prove that democratic economic policies don't work for this country (they may work in other places such as Europe, but not in the U.S. where people are lazy and want to live off of the government). After 3 more years people will stop blaming Bush for the economy, and realize Obama has no clue what he's doing.

And frankly, I don't like Mitt Romney. Rich businessmen just give me the creeps. How can you trust a guy who won't release his tax returns?

Disappointed that my man Romney didn't win. Happy to see yet another election with the peaceful transfer of power. Never stop taking for granted what we have, people.

Amen.

I am quite curious about Romney and the bust. I assume that the embassy will offer to loan it out again and Romney will accept it and place it in the oval office. Hopefully it will signal a new era of beneficial relations for the UK with America.
