Pre-Turn
Wow. Sipahis already in position, our Republic running smoothly... There isn't really much to do but kiss Xerxes goodnight.
Actually, I want to wait for the MPP with Babylon to expire before attacking Persia.
I used these turns to move some more troops to the border and rush some culture buildings and settlers throughout Ottoman lands.
I increase Science to 60%; Scientific Method due in 3 turns.
Turn 2 - 1120 AD
Hurried a few temples in the southwestern territories.
Renegotiate peace with Xerxes. The deal by itself is acceptable...

what about giving us Carthage to stay in peace?
WHAT? No?
Then, unfortunately, it will be war between us. And the history books will remember it to be
your fault, Xerxes, for not agreeing with so reasonable a request.
Hammurabi is annoyed with us, without the MPP. Let's see... Gift him two luxuries and he is polite again. Oh, well, add another one for good measure.
The Persian War
Upon declaring war the Ottomans easily conquered:
Sabratha
Rusicade
Carthage
Just to make it short - the counterattack went all into their trying to recapture Carthage.
I had two Rifles and a dozen Sipahi there, with about twenty more coming on the following turn.
The rifles were butchered without effort, but the Sipahi put up a fierce resistance against the attacking units. About five were lost, but the entire Persian army then lay in the open at the doors of Carthage...
The war:
Utica and Tyre conquered 1140 AD
Avaris, Sidon and Theveste conquered 1150 AD
Gordium captured 1160 AD
Tarsus, Antioch and Persepolis captured 1170 AD
Only Persepolis is left, but it will not be conquered.
In the meantime
Babylon demands that we move our troops from within their territory. I check: it is a single worker that got caught in a border expansion, it seems -with a gazillion Babylonian unite leisurely walking through our lands...
Scientific Method is discovered in 1130 AD; Brusa builds Theory of Evolution and Hoover Dam in 1140 and 1150 AD.
Set science to zero.
Hammurabi did manage to get to Replaceable parts, which I traded for in 1170.
Several settlers were ready on unlikely spots of the map to speed up our border enlargement.
All this was not necessary, as the Domination limit was reached between 1170 and 1180 AD.
The world:
The end:
And look at this. All top five cities belong to Babylon...
Ops! Domination...
