New NESes, ideas, development, etc

ok, I'll wait, but you hgave not seen the last of me! *falls down a bottomless pit of darkness*

In the realm of the fanstastical, this seems interesting.

I am working on a timeline for an AltHis set to being around 1870-1890. So far I'm working on the 1800-1810 decade because that is where the PoD is.

Before posting what I have so far I figured I'd get a bit of input from the rest of you. The PoD is at the Battle of Copenhagen in 1801. British delays due to the whether result in a Danish-Norwegian victory, but the only direct influence of it in the early years is the death of Lord Nelson.

Without Nelson there won't be a battle at Trafalgar. Instead the British and Franco-Spanish fleets clash in the Bay of Biscay. Despite the British doing better than the French they are unable to prevent the French from lifting the siege at Brest and then meeting the army at Boulogne.
Still, the British are not defeated yet.

So... would you consider it plausible that the French actually manage to invade Britain and how do you think it would influence the war?
I'm thinking at the moment that even though the French manage to get the fleet to Boulogne, the British will still be too strong for them to carry out an invasion, but I'm not sure. The strenghts would be something like 40-45 French Ships of the Line facing off against approximately 25-30 British SotL and frigates.

Opinions?

I just recently played Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis again, an old Lucas Arts adventure. The idea of a ancient era nes with an atlantis either in the med. sea or behind the pillars of heracles would be quite interesting. One could either add some fantasy with orichalcum powered machines of death, or just claim that the Atlanteans are the Sea People.

Indiana is about to be turned in a god!

Iggy did that in LINES, though in a fantasy setting...

And I seem to remember another, non-magic fresh-start where Xen played Atlantis. I'll see if I can dig it up.

EDIT: Here we go. It was staznesV.

That was stJNES9, I believe. You were Sri Lanka. He put Atlantis in the Azores, IIRC.

See my above post. ;)

And yes, it does seem like there was an Atlantis in stJNES9. But, unfortunately, Jason deleted the maps four days ago, I assume to make room for new uploads. :(

Thanks for the link jalapeno ;). You made my day.

The "tank" brings up memories. ;)

A promising - if very difficult to properly execute - idea would be a modern day NES variation... with all (or rather, a few specially-selected ones) of the conspiracy theories true. I mean, a NES with alien technology, supersoldiers, mind control devices, psychotronic warfare, state-employed telepaths, clones (especially Hitler clones) and so forth. The main difficulty here will ofcourse be that of regulation, as if indeed we were to allow all the theories then it would simply be TOO crazy.

I had one like that in the works.....but then deleted it for no good reason.
