New NESes, ideas, development, etc

Do whatever you feel will work best; my ruleset is obviously not a constitution. A prototype, no more.

Introducing:

sknesbanner.jpg

A variant on the fresh start NES, which starts in 750 AD, and takes place in Europe and the Islamic world. Ruleset is 90-95% done, I plan on starting it early 2012.

Aight, I'll do judges. Anyone else want in as a judge? (I'm looking for one more... Adrogans will be one)

I will if I can be the announcer.

out of interest, are there any Renaissance/Age of Discovery/Englightenment era (basically, anything that EU3 covers) NESes starting soon?

Well, there is EQ's Capto Iugulum: Empires and Nations, but there is a big chance that it will die pretty soon, given that EQ has been captured by the Skyrim Dragons, who do not seem to be willing to release him soon.

He said EU3, not Vicky 2.

Although I haven't launched any NESes since finishing at uni, I've been playing with lots of ideas. I set up a nice fresh start world in Advance Wars style, but I realised I'm too close to it, I need to back up and think again about how that whole game would work.

In the meantime, playing with more ideas: :)

Sounds too complicated.

It is QUITE complicated, you know. It does sound interesting, but it is still complicated.

I think you are right actually. After my experience with these things its still easy to get carried away! Good for a computer game, not good for any manually updated NES.

Exactly! I'm finding out the same thing :~I

Well, try to simplify it. For example, the part about Import/Export could just be reduced to two stats in which it says how much money you are paying for imports and how much you are getting from exports, and keep the Light/Heavy Goods etc hidden. Food/Minerals/Coal/Oil, I understand that you keep them there, but the others are not necessary. The research teams thing sounds good, too.
