New Units: Angels 6/1/04

Ummm Wrymshadow... see post #11 :D The name was given after the fact, I'm not trying to represent an actual Angelic creature... just a few silly people with wings.

Yeah I know you can still do that mrtn, but I was trying to go along with the forum suggestion of using the post add image instead of the upload feature for files under 500kb.

NateDawgNY in the unit editor there should be a field with all the civs listed... Select any of those that you wish to be able to build a particular unit.

Yeah the Seraphim turned out to be my favorite of the two as well Drift.

Mmmh, that was unexpected. But I like it. Great job.

In the unit editor : Available to.

If you want to make it a flavor unit of a previous unit, don't forget to uncheck the civ for the first unit.

I believe the sole reason for favoring the forum attachments is that file server is getting full and attachments can be deleted when they aren't needed anymore. So people should attach the files that have only temporary use (using a pic as an example in discussion, giving someone a savegame, posting reference pics for a unit request...)

However, the usefulness of unit previews doesn't run out and there will never be need to delete them so I feel it's ok to continue using easy upload for them. It's the pics with temporary use that are the problem. I'm fairly certain file server has enough space to accommodate the unit previews that probably are an insignificant minority of all data uploaded to CFC.

Angels????? I reluctantly clicked on this thread expecting to groan and reach for the x mark before being overcome by  kind of feeling, but ended up impressed. Those are the best animated angels I've seen and almost put them in my industrial age mod (significantly inappropriate). These would be perfect to go in a fantasy mod as some of the monster fighting good guys. Nice detail.

You know, oneday you should put out a really crappy unit, like a one directional not animated sqiggle as a joke.

That would be a piece of high art coming from you though, flasher. :p ;)

I wish I could find a place for them in an epic game.

Man, I can't believe that I forgot about that. You'll have to excuse me today, my brain is fried. Just took the MCP test.

Now any suggested stats?

These are beautiful units! Lovely, lovely, lovely
I'm not a catholic :p ;) , so I don't care about no. of wings & general looks of these knights.

Couldn't they be used simultaneously in your mod, Drift? The female being the fierce defender, while the male would be the awesome attacker. What a fantastic couple they would be ;) :groucho:

I could use them both, but I've got the defensive line of the life mages set up pretty well. No need for a higher level unit there. Offensive units have a spot waiting for an Angel, but in order to incorporate them both, I'd have to replace some of the earlier attackers with the other and make them upgrade to each other. I'll promise to think about it though. It would be more than nice to get them both in MoM. :)

Holy!... *downloads while entranced*

Now where can I use these? :Hmm:

There's demon units too?! Where are they? Link please!

I'd create a world with nothing but these types and let them slug it out. ARMAGEDDON!!! :aargh:

Just to clarify...the term Jedeo-Christian Mythos in no way conatates that Christian or Jewish beliefs are Mythology....am I correct kinboat?

A brief definition of what "mythology" means in a religious context: a story or series of stories intended to reveal some Divine Truth about the nature of reality.

Therefore, mythology is NOT a derrogatory or dismissive title. There is no implication of mythology being fictional or valueless; quite the opposite. Modern usage has unfortunately degraded the term.

[edit] D'oh! Almost forgot: Great units, Kinboat, they look excellent.

These could work in an industrial/modern mod. Make an "Armageddon" or "Judgement Day" small wonder. Have it spit out an Angel every turn. Give them nuclear bombardment (fire and brimstone from heaven) and hidden nationality. Because its a small wonder, you wouldn't know who had built it, and you wouldn't know where they were coming from (heaven?). All terrain as roads. Massive range. A game-ending unit.

Camber, that sounds like a sweet idea. Although if it's a Small Wonder, wouldn't everybody be able to build it? Or is that the whole point?

Well....just call me illiterate then, sorry.

I suppose you could tag it as a leader unit and have them appear after great victories (heavely might) but wouldn't that also nuliffy the regular leader unit, or would the game cycle between them.
