None Shall Pass [Game Thread - Concluded]

sigh... unvote. What about vote: BSmith? Has anyone had any info from him (or her) or private contact? I recall that BSmith tends to lurk as scum, and she/he hasn't posted much in the thread.

come to think of it, what faction is he?

We're almost certain BSmith is not a cultist.

I can be of no help with this, since I don't know who the masons are, or even who the list is. Speaking of which, I don't think anyone claimed to be KM's mason so far. That said, Azzaman's logic makes little sense. Unrestricted town vigilantes, especially in cult games, are relatively common in my experience, and Aragorn looks fairly clearly town, especially since LOTRtownies so far have been from amongst the "Free People", i.e. LOTR's good faction. Either KM or Azzaman is a good lynch, IMO.

Even if you think my play makes no sense as a town member, how does my play make any more sense as a cult member?

I would highly suggest not starting a war between the towns. I have information on almost every player in the game, and I really have no problems using it against anyone who decides its fun to kill the other town.

Tonight, LOTR already has a plan to clean house.

Still sounds like you want me dead because you know next to nothing about me which I can't view as anything but suspicious.

Your thought processes and decisions make no sense as townie. I still don't understand why you haven't claimed much of anything.

That says nothing about how my play makes sense as cult.

Why haven't I claimed? Well, what do I gain from claiming? Nothing. That's why.

What do you gain? Not being lynched? If you're hesitant to claim you're hurting your team. Especially when you're still the prime lynch target.

I have had a 'mare of game, mostly my fault. I've shared my information with certain parties and it has been verified that i'm a good townie and have played with a straight bat.

The attempts by SirTommy to sow discord between the towns is defo a cultist behavior, but I'm thinking the public way he did it makes it unlikely he is cult, has anyone not on the original distrib list received PMs relating to or a link to the QT, because that would be clue to sneaky cultists imo.

You will understand at this point that Vote:azzaman333 is in my personal best interest.

So you're down 7 points. Find Sauron and you score like nine touchdowns at once. More than makes up for any earlier mistakes.

To be very clear, SirTommy was reacting to Sprig's attempts to sow discord between the towns. A purpose of which has been given. I am not sure if that was the purpose of it or just an explanation given.

In any case, SirTommy is 99 percent certain not to be Sauron. Lynching him is absurd. Think he's Palpatine? Palpy never draws that much attention to himself.

Don't trust my reasoning? You got a vig and no one will be protecting SirTommy tonight from my side.

I believe Tommy overreacted, certainly I saw no motivation to encourage inter town problems, it was a simple statement of game facts.
I would agree your reasoning is correct that Sirtommy unlikely to be Sauron or Paply, but is possible he could be a recent expendable convert to cult.

Reacting? It was a clear attempt at sabotage relations.

Sirtommy is your towns responsibility to take care of.

Our vig will be clearing LotR and we expect likewise from SW

From where I sit, given what was being said, it was a perfectly normal reaction.

You have a guy putting SW cult and town in the same basket and saying, essentially, burn the whole basket, LOTR stands united as one against them all.

Any SW person who doesn't come flying to the thread to demand their immediate destruction is a foolish person.

Again, the one encouraging inter-town problems in this case isn't SirTommy.

If you think he's cult, you have a person who can kill him.

We need to be hunting Sauron and Palpatine with our lynch.

Reacting? It was a clear attempt at sabotage relations.

You're not in a position to paint him with that brush.

Whether you were saying what you were saying to "out" SW people or you meant every word, in any case, you knew that SW-LOTR relations would take a hit as soon as word got out.

If you continue blaming SirTommy for your words, it will continue to cheapen them until they become meaningless.

Take it from a guy who has cried wolf too many times and paid the price for it. You damage your credibility at your own risk.

Posting the contents of a QT in public (particularly role identities) is like a mass role-claim AFAIC - it might be strictly legal, but it's extremely poor show.

I think that removing cultists is far more important - cultist numbers are like investments (they can go up or they can go down), but town numbers can only go down.

Bolding mine. So why is the entirety of LotR voting him? You make no sense Sprig, especially since it's your words (that you haven't denied) that got us here.

Verarde. If azza's not going to claim, I'll get his information via my scans and post it publicly so we can stop this "let's keep on lynching SW" BS. Azza, if you don't want that to happen, PM claim to me now. You're doing no one any favors here. If the numbers weren't so skewed, I'd hang you out to dry by now. But I'm certain you're SW and I need you, and you need us. Let's make this work.

BSmith was in touch with me via PM, just asking for my general opinion on the game so far. But given that I was still catching up, I did not reply.

As for my general opinion of the game, I do think it is good to have people heavily engaged in the game, and making things happen (afterall without ATPG and Visorslash's activity there would be a lot less conversation happening publicly at least). I am happy to trust both players for now, but we should not become too much like sheep blindly following their every request. After all, they could yet turn out to be Palpadine and Sauron respectively!

I'm agreeable to a Verarde lynch. He's a lurker as far as I can tell, and not help to either side at this point.
