NOTW XXIX: Hired Swords - Game Thread

"Watching your success I would say they are adequately protected. Now be a good traitor and die."

If there any other unloyal mercenaries amoung you, know this: Choxorn is a night activity prophet while Love is a background prophet. Between Sprig, Choxorn, and Love only one of them can be protected per night, so choose well.

Well.. It doesn't work exactly like that... But believe what you want. :)

The Berserker faces towards the Shadow, a big grin on his face, the very same grin he reserved for the Swordsman Seon.
"Is that so? Love is? You might want to double check your infomation. Nictel was more onto it than you and you had an inside source."
:p
"As for me, you know quite well that I do not need protection. But if your buddies would like to visit me in the night, I have an appropriate greeting all ready!"

The berserker observers the visibly sign of fear written in the body language of Sidar. He slowly takes a sip from his hipflask.
“Considering you have replica written down the side of your knife.”
The Sidar and the rest of the mercenary’s eyes instantly focus on the knife and the letters written down the side. ‘R. E. P. L. I. C. A.’
“And I have Mithril Sword point five oh, written down the side of mine.”
This time, the eyes of the group and the Sidar focus on the Berserkers Sword. It flashes in a rare beam of sunlight and indeed the writing on it can be seen. ‘M. I. T. H. R. I. L. - S. W. O. R. D. - .50’
“This should precipitate your ilk into not bothering my sleep. Now kindly die like the traitor you are.”

Silly Illian. You know not the full extent of how wrong you are. Like, you think the three of us are the only ones who you need to worry about. :p

Now there; there isn't any need to bash the thoughts of a dying Illian. Regardless of whether it is right or wrong it will run its course thoroughly.

Freezing people is so much more efficient than using petty little toys such as those.

I agree. Then you'd have to pick someone to lynch too. Best to save it until we have a two confirmed targets in a round.

OOC: I was talking more in game... I mean he is an Illian, we don't liek them very much, and he's been killing our own company. Why should we wait to the evening to kill him? :p

OOC: if we had agreement of the whole mob then there is no reason not to have an automatic lynch. But in this case we have a bunch of mercenaries that are scared of dying and are afraid of getting killed by the Baddies. Unfortunately what they don't realize is that they are helping the Illians and traitors hide amongst them.

One thing that I would make very clear in my own hosted games is that just because you died doesn’t mean you lose. Those innocents that died in order to root out the baddies would be honoured as heroes at the end of the game. With a nice special write up too!!!.

Speaking of which, this day seems to be dragging on a bit longer than usual... when does it end?

OOC: I've always disagreed with this idea. I think that to win you have to get your VC and survive till the end. Yeah giving your life for the course is a noble thing but it is always better to survive. Same goes for the wolves. I don't look at NOTW as being a team game.

The Company was nearly unanimous in their choice of the next person to die; dark rumours were going about that the Shadow, Frozen in Ice, had been an Illian agent in the Company. When faced with the threat of death, the Shadow still sounded defiant, and confident in his abilities.

"You truly think you can kill me? I was around before even your grandfathers were before - I have survived much worse than a mere company of mercenaries, and likewise I will survive your retribution!" The Shadow drew a sword, casting a threatening glance at the Company, as if daring the men to make their move.

A scream - or rather a battle cry - sounded from the ranks of the Company. All the men joined in. Nothing was left of the Shadow, and his guilt was proven beyond doubt.

Spoiler :
Frozen in Ice was an Illian infiltrator!

Another guilty party had been exposed. Could the men continue rooting their evil foes out? Only time would tell.

It is now night! Thread is closed for talking! Send in your night actions!
Day comes in 24 hours!

Another day rose on the men... and the night had brought death upon them again.

First of all, the Champion was found dead. The Champion's features were contorted, he had died in pain. A dark green liquid leaked from his mouth; he had been dosed with a deadly poison!

What also drew their attention was that the Champion had gone all pale. At first it was suggested to be a side-effect of the poison, but then they reminded themselves of the Shadow just before he died. He had been just as pale as this... the Champion had been an Illian in disguise!

His body was thrown off the cliff, clear to see. A way of retaliation for he had tried to do to them, as a warning to the Illian reminant.

Spoiler :
Rhawn was an Illian infiltrator!

Another corpse had been found though.

The men were all looking at a corpse... the mangled body of the Berserker. He had been attacked during the night, and he had been hacked apart with a sword. Not even his great strength in combat had been able to save him from their enemy. The Mithril Sword was still stuck in his hand - he had woken up just in time to try and stop his attacker. But it was all in vain.

Nothing was found that indicated the Berserker's guilt. There was nothing left for the men to do than to mourn their comrade's fall.

Spoiler :
Sprig was loyal to the Company.

The Mithril Sword had resurfaced in the dead Berserker's hands, as well as a flask of dark green liquid. It would be voted on, along with the execution.

It is now day! Thread is open again!
Night comes in 72 hours! Please note that the day is a bit longer than usual.

The flask of dark green liquid was originally mine, I have given it to Sprig as per his request. I think it would be best for me to have it once again. ME

As for the Mithril sword, I think that Sprig would like someone he trusted with the sword to keep the sword, That would be ME.

As for today's lynch.. I was confirmed that Autolycus was an Illian convert two days ago, but I also gained knowledge of Frozen in Ice as the mother of Illian infiltrator, converting the others to Illians and thus was the bigger fish to catch.

I say for now, we go for Autolycus as he is already confirmed until someone else finds a bigger fish.

Ghost Comment: Oh no you don't. *grabs sprig's ghost, and pulls him down into hell*

Actually, I would beg to differ. I was the one who gave that flask to Sprig. It was his, mine, his, then he died. btw my lynch vote is to TheLastOne36. Because he is lying.

Actually, what happened was that I gave it to him, he gave it to you, you gave back to him and yah. :p

But it was originally mine, and from my homeland.
