Random Rants XXXIX: Coming up with a title is stressful

Maybe it's because they're the last Energizer product you'll ever buy. :p

So tonight I have to write a cover letter for a writing workshop my English teacher has been pushing me to do, catch up on some Bible projects I've been putting off, and cram for a Latin final. There's only one week left of school, and my damn-giving facilities are critically low.

ultimate [uhl-tuh-mit]

noun

the best, greatest, or most extreme of its kind.

Your argument is invalid. English is famous for having one word with many different meanings.

You have to remember I'm also not a fan of using "********" in any meaning other than "slowed-down" (unless I'm being ironic). I don't like it when slang terms become accepted definitions. What's next, the accepted definition for "radical" be "extremely good"?

I still have three weeks left, but I'm a senior, so my damn-giving facilities have been running on fumes since Spring Break. Now they're trying to pull the very last few bits they can scrape out of it for the next three weeks.

"Duuuuude, I just caught a totally RAD wave man!" (Unless you were being sarcastic about that. Doesn't convey well over the internet)

God forbid the English language from evolving.

I overslept for work today. It's 6 AM and I'm already 2 hours late... maybe I'll just do what my coworker did yesterday and not show up... yeah, one day won't hurt me THAT badly.

So, when two hours late for work, you still manage to switch on your computer, load up CivFanatics and post about how you're late for work? :crazyeye:

lol america

Bare in mind that not everyone gets up on when the alarm rings and diligently turns up to work on time due to their status as cogs in some giant capitalist machine. I do, for example, as a means to making money, retiring asap and spending the rest of my life doing exciting stuff.

Lolmerica would be a pretty good place to execute such a scheme.

Assuming CivFanatics is ever closed for me

What i meant was, doing that here would get you fired instantly.
A colleague of mine got a 15% salary penalty for being late 15 minutes. :)
This is the private sector i'm talking about. The state jobs function on the communist principle, it doesn't matter if you work less or more, even if you show up for work or not, you get the same salary as everyone else.

Wow , I'm blown away by that. Interesting to see how you guys have taken so readily to unfettered capitalism. Is there resentment to this? Or is the unemployment situation so dire that it is just accepted?I'm surprised that organized labour would appear to be so powerless in a former communist country
