Single Player bugs and crashes - After the 13th July 2013

Sorry, I meant that in a strictly subjective way. C2C is the greatest thing Civ has ever seen!

As for the instructions as I cant isolate the issue I figured saves and dumps weren't useful. When I get home Ill turn on the AI logging and post the file produced up to a crash point.
 
I'm playing C2C 31 (downloaded 7/16 in the afternoon). I created this game under version 30 and modified the map with the editor. After playing for about 250 turns, I started getting a CTD so I set it aside. That CTD is fixed now and I've advanced by maybe 25 turns or so, but now it hangs when advancing past 670 AD. There was no minidump.dmp file - not sure if that's a bad sign. I'm attaching the last known good save (which I understand could still be corrupted), and all of the log files that had a date stamp from today.

If you're able to load the save, you might also see pink squares on some tiles - those seem to appear when farming melons, but only the earlier farms have it. That's a leftover from v 30, I believe.

Crashing aside, I love C2C and would like to marry it. Please let me know when that option is available.

I am unable to reproduce this from your save (load save, recalcing when it requests it) then just end turn immediately twice (which takes you to 685AD).

It's possible that some specific action is needed in the turn between the one it loads in and the one that is hanging for you. Can you try just ending turn without moving anything both times initially, and see if it is reproducible for you (or if not if you can construct a recipe that is). The logs don't have any obvious anomalies either.

Note - I am using the latest SVN rather than V31, but given the nature of changes since V31 it is VERY unlikely that that is significant to a hang.
 
i use auto hunt and protect bords in rogues and assassins, but they are ignoring the rivals (just attack the pc units when i declare war to the nation). If a unit of a nation that i'm not declare war cross or go near the border, or my rogue found the unit in lands, my rogue ignore them. Some updates ago my unit hunts the rival units as well. The odds are okay.
 
Welp... I got home to edit my .ini file and while turning on logging I also disabled the voice capture thing... and since then no crashes 40 turns later! So either the voice capture was causing seizures or logging is now mandatory :-)

Gawd I love this frigging mod, keep up the good works gents especially Koshling your speed improvements are unbelivable!

GAH spoke to soon, after like 40-50 turns same crash.... Which logs do I attach, some of these are like 30 megs now.

ALso for first time an apparently corrupt autosave was created. Attached are the log files which were modified while attempting to load this save and the save itself (judging by date modified).

i5 3570k
Radeon 7950
16GB 1866mhz
SSD

I have pagefile turned off due to the fact that I got lots of ram and an SSD, any chance of thing being an issue?

As someone requested I am changing the art for the Andean Worker. It is working in the pedia but not the game at the moment.

Post a save where an automated rogue is within attack anew for such an attack, with details of where to look, and I'll look into it for you.
 
Can we have a new debug version of the dll, please. The current non debug gives me a message saying it fails to load a file but not why. The debug is a couple of versions ago and it just crashes while loading the uncached XML:(
 
I attempted to test the fix of my save, but with last version of the DLL (SVN 5788) the game crashes on startup (before reach Main menu screen). Minidump attached. Deleting cache solves the problem. But anyway I think it shouldn't crash with cache files of another DLL version, I don't know if this normal or not...Totally fixed with SVN 5804, many thanks for your work Koshling!

The minidump doesn't really tell me anything I'm afraid. I suspect a bug in the cache-version testing but what I need from someone, in order to diagnose it, is a ZIP of their cache when it's in a sate that causes the game to crash on starting.

This is the same crash that SO and a few others were reporting on V31, which seems to have ben cured by the latest SVN. Well, strictly, they are not reporting I anymore at least, though the cause was never pinned down (but extra diagnostics were added to get more info when it happens again).

Try the attached DLL. If this causes you to crash on loading the mod (see possible caching bug above) you can cure it by deleting your cache (caveman2cosmos/assets/cache), BUT if that DOES happen it would be very useful to me if you could first ZIP up the cache folder before deleting it and uploading it somewhere (it'll be too big for these boards) for me...

I am just wondering IF we should RE-DO the present ModDb version 31 with the current dll in it?? Otherwise i think we are going to have alot of the same instances??

Well, the strange thing is that I never fixed that bug - I just added some diagnostic popups to provide more information if it should happen again, so it's weird that it has stopped happening. However you might be right since it does seem to have stopped for some reason.
