Single Player bugs and crashes v35 plus (SVN) - After the 18th of August 2014

Will the new version download from the SVN as the current updates do when released and can we continue with our save games or new game start needed?

Yes, backwards compatibility is one of the strong points of this mod.
But sometimes changes are made that can partially to completely break saves but v35 saves should, afaik work fine with v36.

PS: Not to be mean, but you should really work on your grammar. :p

I am german man, so my english is german english. ;)

Also: No ravens dont have a very low aggression setting, they attack on land normaly (Have option on / animals always attack) they never attack from lake plots.

Not to harp... I'm not a grammar nazi (although I have been known to author a bit) but just to be helpful, the bit that was grammatically disturbing was:
or new game start needed?
We're missing the framing of the question. Should be:
"or is a new game start needed?" or "or would a new game start be required?"

The rest of it wasn't really offending any grammatical rules though you did also ask two very distinct questions within the span of one sentence which was a little against the grain.

In recognition of this site being so multi-national and thus mult-lingual, I've learned to read through such blips without concern. So carry on and don't worry about it! ;)

Thats only time saving typing, in german language we let out some words sometimes as mutch as you like shortcuts. ;)

Ok back to the bugs.

There is a Hatti Empire in the game but there is no entry for it in the in-game pedia.

They're the Hittites, masquerading under a different name.

OK, it is just the help text for the Holy Mountain quest that is causing problems.

I will split it into three bits and put it back together in the code with the bits needed for the religion. This way all religions will be able to have the quest it will just be more difficult for Mesopotamian, Ngai and Yoruba to get help in finding the mountain.

I have added a special building Cathedral_II for those other religions which have cathedral buildings that need to be available before Music. IE Druid, Shaman and Tengrii.

This fix will not be part of v36 but wait until after so it can have some testing.

endt Note to translators The text for this quest was in BtS not our mod. The Help text is now and it would be good if you could check that how I split it works for your language. There is no Polish translation in there. It is in the Events_CIV4GameText.XML file in the XML/Text folder of C2C.

very good explanation to modders and thx . . . as always ;)

Thx. Uniformity in Empire names would be nice however.
Other mods have the same naming for Hittites. However, I would prefer to just call them... Hittites. The Hatti term is too confusable with Haiti which I wish we had as a culture considering that Voodoo comes from there.

While doing this I noticed that there are no leaders in base C2C that have Ngai as their favorite religion! There are also a number of leaders without a favorite religion. I am thinking of modifying the Religion pedia page to include a list of leaders who have the religion as their favorite.

On a side note we probably need to add in some more African leaders pre Islam to fill the gaps in those religions that AAranda made.

We also need some Oceanic religions. Unfortunately the only names I have for them are
  • Aboriginal Dreamtime
  • New Guinea Animism,
  • Melanesian Animism,
  • Polynesian Animism, and
  • Micronesian Animism

with no idea what their "buildings" should be.

Also since a couple of the "buildings" for the African religions are collections of stories perhaps some members of the Story Teller line should be able to build them and the Great Artist should to provide some "free" in all cities.

I'll think more on this and add something to the Religion Discussion thread.

If you go down about 2/3 swipe of your rolling btn on the mouse, you will see the Ab's had something called a "rainbow serpent myth for religion??

CTD when i went into the WB, looked for the option, i checked "uncut" but i could not get a screen of the option to be SMALLER because i play on 1024X768, so went into the task manager (AltCtrlDelete) and civIV quit responding and the program just went poof and gone??

Also is there anyway we can get the "options" screen to adhere to my size of playing, otherwise the option screen is USELESS to me??? see attached pic 1

A full review of the leaders we have and what their fav religions are has been in order for a long time now. I like the pedia adjustment you propose. I have also been looking forward to seeing Dreamtime in the game as a religion for a long time now.

I already know you cannot switch safely from base Size Matters to Uncut. There are crash points I couldn't avoid in that but that's one of the reasons that game options are game options that aren't really supposed to be changed during play. On SOME occasions it can be safely done but not always. I'm sorry but in this situation you MUST choose properly from game setup.

I've also noticed how frustrating the WB option selection screen has become. Is there anything we can do about that?

We have had some suggestions along these lines for art but nothing for "buildings". AAranda added the African religions and had songs, stories and myths or collections of them as the buildings. I don't know much about the Dreamtime et al to be qualified to start.
