It doesn't make it easy to talk about actual problems caused by poor immigration laws, when there are people out there spreading so much anti-immigration fear and paranoia. It sort of makes you want to dismiss valid complaints and issues, because on the surface they at first usually seem like a part of the paranoia that you're trying to avoid.
The fact is that Sweden has let in far too many people too quickly, without a clear plan on how to integrate them into society.. They've opened up the floodgates and now are facing a demographical problem.. At the same time they're finding it hard to even face this issue, because.. well, because as soon as you start trying to talk about the issue, a lot of people will just call you a racist and walk away.
I feel like they've opened up a pandora's box and are going to pay this for decades. They're not going to turn into a Muslim country at all, but they're just not equipped to deal with such changes. If they happened much slower, yeah, maybe, but like this? It's the worst way to do it. You need to be smart about letting me people into your country, especially if they're going to have such a hard time integrating.
The Swedes didn't have a plan and now it's starting to become clear that it's going to bite them in the butt. It might not be pleasant to talk about, but it's a real problem.
