The Ideal Citizen

I'll go with this. It's close enough.
Bozo was right. Dog kennel indeed. Frankly, you'd be nuts to call this a democracy and I'd say this post, unless you're being sarcastic, belies a few very serious misunderstandings about democracy.
It was sarcasm. It's almost completely opposite to what I believe (skepticism to power, not faith in government; obedience to morality and justice when conflicting with the laws; loyalty to values that lay the foundations for the democracy, not loyalty to a name or the current government).

EDIT: It's all in the way that trait is carried out. Faith in democracy can be very helpful too.

Has a competant knowlege of High School Science and Geography at the minimum level.

2 out of 3...that's bad...America...
We just held elections is Ohio. Turn out was 23% of registered voters. Nothing important. Just gubernatorial and senate primaries. And some school funding issues. Really, like those issues have any effect on our lives :shake:

Cue El Machinae! Though actually, you have a point. El Mac may deserve honorable mention for striving to better the overall human condition by suspending aging.

What do you want me to talk about?

Captain America's formula slowed his aging. As well, I think he was frozen in a block of ice for awhile, which stopped his aging. Though I'm not sure of that story line.

The ideal citizen:
- upgrades their education, continually
- invests and saves their extra income
- obeys laws that have been decided upon by the majority
- uses consumer power to modify corporate behaviour
- lives by the Golden Rule
- thinks using the long-term
- votes
- votes
- votes

And to think I work every day on ensuring American's voting rights...

Sigh...

That's why so many of us on here question the system as it currently works. This apathy is only increasing.

36DD leggy and blonde.. or am barking up the wrong tree?

1. Is critically aware of the government and its actions
2. Participates in elections
3. Pays taxes in return for services provided by the government
4. Uses democratic means to make changes or if that fails uses peacful protest or civil disobediance
5. Resolves conflicts peacfully
6. Obeys the law when the laws are in tandem with common moral values
7. Partcipates in civil society by being member of a volountary orgnazation that works for the betterment of society as a whole

Thats some of what comes to mind now

heres my ideal citizen:

1) Follows all Just laws.

2) Is not afraid to protest but does so peacefully.

3) Does not vote based on party.

4) Does not agree with the government all the time.

5) Votes on every election wether its local, or national.

6) Uses reasoning and logic to debate political issues and not emotion.

7) And lastly but the most important the citizen is well informed about local and national politics and how government processes work.

Which of the three isn't the case in America?

My ideal citizen:

1. Is capable of reason.
2. Is capable of reason.

Because that is all that anyone has the "right" to demand of a citizen. How he chooses to exercise that reason... well, if that were prescribed, then it wouldn't be a democracy.

Don't you think reason should be excerscied peacefully and democratically thoiugh? What if the citizen reasoned that it was time for a reveloution?

Then other citizens would reason that it was time to put him in prison.

Obviously, my rights end at the point of your nose.
