More for me then.I might eat lobster bisque, lobster roll, fried shrimp, but a full grown lobster with it's creepy legs and whiskers? Hell nah.
Less water than hand washing. But works best if the dishes are scraped off and rinsed first.

Won't doing that over and over ad infinitum just serve to cause unsightly scratch marks to grow on the dishes? I mean, if there's no food for the soaps to attack, they'll just attack the dish instead, IIRC.
The less food particles that get thrown around in a dishwasher, the less frequently its waste tubes will need to be de-gunked.
I'm fairly sure they've made improvements to dishwashers since then.Yeah. The less detergent you use on anything the better, imo.
I tend to wipe all greasy things with kitchen paper first - which I later compost. And then wash them as soon as possible, before anything gets stuck on. Basically using enough water, with a soft cloth and vigorous hand action does a pretty good job initially. And, if I'm feeling fussy, I might quickly do them again with some washing up liquid. And rinse the stuff with hot water.
I have a dishwasher. But I haven't used it in nearly 10 years. I don't think they do a terribly good job. You have to clear all the gunk off the plates before you start, then load the dishwasher and wait for it to a do a not very good job, then you have to unload everything and wash the stuff again which hasn't come clean in the dishwasher. I'd rather just wash things the once, and have done with it. Thank you very much.
Accidentally ate something really spicy and it hurts and we're out of milk. Any other suggestions?
Eat something with a lot of starch like rice, pasta, bread, etc.
Looks like you were ~30 minutes too late to help.
Tangentially related.
