Warpus "Double Oven" Johnson sounds like possibly an insult though, compared to the epic sounding Warpus "Two Ovens" Johnson. But I did ask for the proper terminology, so I have to accept your answer.

You could get a microwave oven and a toaster over and call yourself Quad Oven.

Is your boyfriend going to call himself ‘Mike Crapbag’, warpus?

Guys, what is your favorite free anti virus and anti malware? My disk been running busy, now currently it's said steam bootstrapper, the other time it's system, and bitdefender not only takes an insane amount of time to search for potential threat (I gave up using it after stuck on forever 7% progress) but it also takes a lot of memory (350+mb). Before I decided to perhaps buy a new hardisk (which not only I don't want to spend the money, I think 3 years is not that long for a machine to break-down) but also I'm too lazy to migrated and move the operating system to the new SSD.

You guys have any suggestion please?
I think with anti virus software free can be OK, but paying is better. I have used Malwarebytes premium and I think it costs about $30/year. They do have a free version. I have turned off any windows anti virus.

I think the different between free and premium is only the real-time protection, or other anticipation/prevention aspect. While threat detection are the same for Malwarebytes either for premium or free. I was feeling sufficient using both Malwarebytes and Emsisoft both able to detect different problem, I remember I changed to Malwarebyets and Emsisoft after the failure or the twilight of Super Anti Spyware (I think you know this program as well).

Perhaps it's not malwarebytes problem because perhaps there is no infection in my computer to begin-with. Perhaps the problem is the hard-disk.

Not having a hard disk would dramatically reduce the chances of your having a computer virus in the system.

Very nice Takh, you are a literal trouble shooter, fixing taking too much time and ineffective, why don't just shot the problem with a double barrel shotgun!

I already suggested a software solution but you ignored it, so now I offer a hardware solution.

I read your linux promotion too many time, I think you suggest it also to a cfc member who bought a new computer.

I think you and Syns can make an advertising company, as someone who dwell in recruitment especially in Marketing recruitment I can see that both of you can be a good cop and bad cop partners in sales.

Spoiler :
Why you have to see this? Isn't it obvious that you are the bad cop Takh, smh.

If you have no operating system, you can't get a virus.

:mischief:

As for antiviruses, I just use Windows Defender, do an occasional scan with MalwareBytes free, and spot-check files in VirusTotal (even if it's too big for upload, sometimes dropping in the MD5 hash will get you results).

I'd never recommend Linux to you, Haroon. I want you to be a part of society, not on the fringe of it.

I trust the fate of my OS in your hand with close eyes!

Sometimes when I run the shower the pipes make a horrible screaming noise. What did I do to make them so angry?

Some nicknames can catch a countries imagination. Jimmy 'Five Bellies' Gardner springs to mind. (Drinking buddy of Paul 'Gazza' Gascoigne)

Dude, Windows 10 has a bad history against touchpads on laptops. Even the crappy Endless OS allows the use of those.

Pretty much every laptop has a touchpad. Somehow I doubt Microsoft has an incentive to make them not work.

*tries touchpad just to be sure, nods with satisfaction*

IIRC it is because of air trapped in the pipes and the plumbing not done properly.

It is a common enough failing of theirs that ‘updated to windows 10 how to enable touchpad laptop’ and similar questions get a lot of results, guides, etc.
I know that it sounds silly for Microsoft to make it like that, but it's actually how it turns out to be.

:dunno:
