Do the buses get more expencive the later we book?

well due to my expansive knowledge of the buses i have no idea. they might not get more expensive but i assume places dwindle

The prices do go up as you get closer to the date so book early.

It isn't easy enough to ignore anyway?

Only once I get to the posts... You see, I see that there are unread posts in this thread, and I think to myself, hmm, maybe someone's decided to move the meet to Colchester, or to tomorrow, or someone's posted something which might conceivably be relevant to the subject at hand. So I click on "first unread post", and I find you guys are reliving the north-south thread.

Which is all well and good, but if it's more than a couple of posts, it would be nice to do it elsewhere.

That's all...

Apologies for spamming the thread. Given that I can't be there in person I'm merely making an attempt to stay involved. Obviously we're discussing a meet up not the latest crisis from the middle east. But if it's upsetting you, or putting you to such great inconvenience perhaps you should report it and get the mods to bounce on in here and ensure that we discuss nothing other than where, when and how this meet-up will take place. I'd much prefer that than have you go over the online version of telling me and others to shut up.

I am currently looking at Pubs on the Charing Cross Road, close to Leicester Square tube station and about 3 or 4 other stations.

There's a pub that used to called the Moon on the Water (a Wetherspoons pub) and before that was the Marquis Club (been to see some damned fine bands play there, once hosted The Doors way back I think).

It's currently called the Montagu Pyke link is here

Stapel should know it, we met there before on a previous meet, it has an entrance (shown on the pic) on Charing Cross Road and a back entrance on Leicester Square itself.

Wadya reckon?

Meli

Move me to a "probably not"

Realised that weekend is pretty much certain to be slap-bang in the middle of a snowboarding holiday with my girl...

So that's what they've done with the old Marquee club, I've heard that it was now a pub, but I'm showing my age again.

@Abaddon: you just have to convince her that a better holiday would be to meet up with a load of people you've only met over the internet to talk about a computer game. She can always go Christmas shopping and join us later for a meal if she wishes. Whomp managed it with Holly.

True, but no offence guys n gals, i'd take the snowboarding option over you lot and a very expencive trip to London :p

Really does pain me tho... the ol' drunken bus routeen was really shapeing up nicely!

Ah, yes, The Marquee. I went to a gig there once some 20 years ago, but I honestly have no idea who the band was.... :crazyeye:

So I was thinking...this threads got a bit messy with all the north/south and drunk on buses talk...maybe we should make a new one just to get the details sorted...as in 'Yes we are meeting at a cafe somehwere in Central London at around 11am on December Saturday 16th' and actually confirm a venue, plus get an attendance list confirmed so we know who to wait for.

I'm being organisational today...got 3 trips (including this one) to London coming up so have reliased I should sort them:D

Dunno if there's much reason to start a new one, seeing as we're fairly confident of the time and erm...well not the place. Probably just as easy to annoy Sophie to update the first post as to final agreement. Preferably in big bold letters, as my memory is terrible.

Haven't really given much to deciding of location simply due to the fact I'm unfamiliar with London. When something is decided I'll be triple checking how to get there, but I'm not going to suggest anything other than to (quite obviously) say it should be somewhere that's easy to get to. After that we can go to any sort of confusing places.

Regardless, I'll be definitely travelling down, as I'm getting the tickets this week :D

Well, i'd defo say Tottenham Court Road as we did last time...and I bet it ends up being the same Starbucks!

I might try and get feline-dacat to come and she knows London pretty well. Or else Mise might be able to suggest somehwere good (i'll go poke him on msn).

Hmm well Mise can't think of anywhere and now we've started talking about our drinking plans for the weekend before..so suggestions welcome!:crazyeye:

Nope but where are you going drinking?
Electric Ballroom on the 8th and then hopefully a houe party on the 9th.

I'm up in London for a gig on the 9th and me and Mise have friends living there.

Hey all, its nice to be back :) I'm still peeved I missed the first CFC meetup cos I was ill.

Hows about some exploration of the Brick Lane area? I don't actually know it but the times I've visited, it was just amazing. So much to take in! And of course, there's plenty of restaurants, bars and pubs in the area as well as galleries/exhibitions apparently. Its generally quite pretty, and I personally am always on the look out for Banksy graffiti.

Is Ram still around on CFC? He's quite good about this sort of thing. Perhaps Ram has some suggestions too :)
