Hi, I'm looking to create smoother medieval/post medieval unit progressions for a personal mod. Thanks to Conquests and the Napoleonic scenario in particular, I now have a very nice path for infantry: musketman -> fusilier -> Napoleonic infantry -> Rifleman. However, the choices for cavalry are lacking - there really isn't anything between the standard game Knight and Cavalry. I think the best unit to fill this gap would be some sort of 17th century cavalier of the types used in the Thirty Years' War or the English Civil War - a fully or partially armored horseman with a brace of wheelock pistols or carbine and a saber. I have no artistic skills, so would anyone be up to making one? I imagine a lot of people could find a use for such a unit. Here are some pictures.

I think it was named 'Cuirassier'.
Steph also made a lot of conversion from America Conquest and Cossacks. You might be able to found a few cuirassier, dragoon and hussar over there.

Edit : Dumb me, Steph has already answered. :crazyeye:

I found the dragoon, but it's very odd looking - it's front legs are shorter than it's rear. It also lacks a civilopedia picture. Also, I don't play world maps very often and I think the Turks are an important civilization, so I don't want to cannibalize the Sipahi (actually, I'm planning to make the Sipahi replace this new cavalier instead of Cavalry for the Turks.) I suppose the Ironsides from Cossacks could suffice, but my experience has been that the Cossacks units don't blend very well in the Civ3 milieu.
