No body in this thread is arguing for stopping all immigration, so the rest of your post is irrelevant.
Its sort of like Brexit in that regard. Only the crazies know what they want, and thats why they'll get their way. The supposed moderates get eroded by repeated failure and concede to their hardline "allies".
More likely than not, we'll see it all across the continent of Europe in the next two years. The centre Right will cross the red line to work with the Far Right and behave as if thats normal and reasonable. The a few years later I imagine there will be a mix of outright collapses from dysfunctional coalitions, or the centre Right ~*Mysteriously*~ adopting more extreme positions as if their failure are just from not going hard enough.
