Richard Chamberlain version of The Count of Monte Cristo. This doesn't really follow the book, but :dunno: it is the most gripping movie version. :goodjob:

I think it's too much of a story for just one movie hence I prefer the Depardieu's mini series. And I don't even like him in it. Putting a false nose on Gerard's own is beyond capabilities of 1800s.
Also my single book for solo missions on an isolated island as the setup usually goes.

Elysium. Meh.
Killer Elite. Didn't finish.
Harry Potter 1-8. With my daughter. OK.

Tomorrow maybe something related to Easter? I have Jesus of Montreal, Last temptation of Christ, The passion of the Christ available on DVD(!)/BRD.
Play Doom, in which you descend into Hell and fight the Devil.

Parasite. Sure it's overhyped but it was still good and I liked it.

edit:
Same with The World Worst Person, I don't get all the fuzz (in norway) but it was still a good film.

I fell :sleep::sleep: during Interstellar, which really doesn't happen so often.

I disown you! ;) Seriously though,, there so much cool stuff in that movie. Even a sarcastic robot. And good drama too. The story of Matt and his daughter was heartbreaking for me. (Watch it again sometime :).....with coffee)

Honestly, I struggled a bit with Parasite, and I really wanted to like it. There was some good stuff, but ultimately it did not work for me.

Monte Cristo is one of my all-time favorite stories, but not sure what adaptation I liked best and I've seen about all of them (even the anime). I guess Depardieu's since it was prolly closest to the book, although if I recall they still borked the ending.

Prisoners https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1392214/

Not a bad movie by any means but I was sort of expecting more ...of everything, really. I didn't feel the need to watch the time at any point but I was constantly expecting something to happen and when it finally did it was also over leaving me somewhat disappointed. One of the cases where the movie doesn't meet the expectations resulting the movie feeling worse than it probably is.

I didn't like the ending at all, felt too artificial and was underwhelming as well.

Seems like a choice between comedy, existentialism or horror.

Impossible sorry Lymond..i don't drink coffee ;)
I know you are fine with hollywood drama, but i find nothing emotional when it's so obviously overacted and scripted.

Prisoners was really weak, an exercise in tolerating the same scenes over and over and over.

Saw (parts of) some right stinkers in our holiday-rental apartment during the past week:

Jumper -- Hayden Christiansen is pursued by sinister agents who somehow know exactly where he is (despite his ability to teleport himself anywhere in the entire goddam world) and who are allegedly out to kill him (except they don't, even when they've got him immobilised using their high-tech-but-for-some-reason-non-lethal weapons)
Gods of Egypt -- OMG this was so baaad. WTH was Geoffrey Rush thinking when he signed up to this crapfest? (Yeah, I know: $$$$) Even Clash of the Titans was better than this, hell, even 300 was better than this...
Madagascar 3 -- A second totally unnecessary sequel, but this time including an inexplicably mute inarticulate and therefore somewhat disturbing circus-bear
Salt -- Seen it before, and while I'm always a sucker for Jolie, the plotholes were more painful this time round

On the bright side, I did also get to see the first(?) episode of the new series of Derry Girls

Inside Man. 6.5/10. This would have scored much higher had this movie had an actual ending. Since it didn't, it is only a little above average, and I could be convinced to punish it more. The titular song for this movie was a Bollywood track, which makes no sense given the cast and premise of the movie, but it was a banger, so I guess it's okay.

I didn't find Salt too bad, but it definitely wasn't great.
But yeah, Jumper... that was just crap. What if you had super powers, and would do absolutely nothing with it? A pointless movie.

I expected more but it's still ok and I've a feeling that on 2nd time this might be even better. The overwhelming greeness was the first and odd thought with the movie. I'm much more used to b&w Monument Valley and grey/brown italo western scenery. The cast is great and as I knew the Bening's question I knew the answer, 45. It just feels like she's been around much longer. Might be Beatty causing the illusion.

Uuuhm, on Vice City Public Radio I heard that it was a documentary?

Within that selection, Salt is pretty much The Godfather compared to the rest. And I don't even like Salt that much.
