Well it is them against he world a bit isn't it? I mean they represent a massively under-represented part of the population that is tired of being treated like second rate citizens. I get that you don't like this, but the reality is his is a populist movement. I don't like all that comes with that but I do understand it.

Yes her campaign worked from the I'm for the people who have been getting the shaft for 40 years. It was a very similar thread.

Could it be that they actually aren't under represented? I mean I could say that there is absolutely no one representing former car salesmen turned bank robbers, but i wouldn't because I know that there just aren't so many car salesman bank robbers that we merit a spokesperson in congress to forward our interests. I realize that they don't get their way, but in a democracy that is sort of how it goes when you are in a distinct minority.

I suspect a few people here wanting proportional representation would be fine with a dictator ship as long as they or their friends are in charge.

In a healthy democracy you will have the right and left change positions every few election cycles.

Inconvenient I suppose if you expect things your way 100% if the time.

Generation X parents weren't good with the No word though.

Lol you are such a one trick pony man. Do you care about anything else other then the counter wokeness?

The fact that there is actually a thread on this website called "Another Feminist Movie Crashes and Burns" is such a source of shame for me

I was going to do a sequel when the next one crashes and burns. It's getting really predictable. Warning signs

1. It's marketed as a feminist movie.
2. Critics love it
3. Cost more than 50 million
4. Isn't MCU or Wonder Women.

I take it that wasn't a cornerstone in your defense when the Warren supporters called you a sexist.

So I mean the people who support Medicare for all which has been as high as 70% and has never fallen under 50% during this campaign. Or the people who support the GND which also enjoys popular support int eh democratic party. Or the people who believe in tertiary education for those who work hard at it which enjoys popular support as well among the general population. Or how about universal child care? Justice reform? Housing for the poor?

I mean I get a lot of this might seem pie in the sky for an old bank robber turned legalized people robber, but so was social security and medicare (first run) until it wasn't. So was the interstate system connecting 48 continuous states and trips from LA to NY driven in three days.

What makes you think that "only Bernie's revolution" represents the people who are interested in those things? There are plenty of people who want those things and have every reason to believe that they are represented by the Democratic party.

Most people don’t think Bernie is the only one democrat leader who wants universal healthcare for example, Warren does, Castro does, heck most of the field did. Most do however after 70 years of establishment democrats dillydallying on the issue realise Bernie is the only one serious enough about it to make it happen.

Kind of like how Obama went in on a message of change and all he managed to change was to make the insurance industry slightly less terrible.

Sanders apparently can't even make winning the nomination happen. Insufficient voter support. I see no reason to expect this mythical level of effectiveness from the guy.

We have a lot of report about voter suppression, phone calls behind the scene, close enough to super Tuesday to keep Biden from shooting himself in the face on stage again, "you... you... you know the thing" etc. We'll see how things evolve in the coming days. It'll be interesting.

My worry is that Biden will go against trump, crap himself on stage, stumble over his lines and generally show the full extent of how far his brain rot has progressed; handing it over to trump who has no issue with going as dirty as needed to win

Bernie: huge list of issues and detailed plans for how to fix them and detailed plans for how to pay for them too

If that's true he really needed to be prepared to talk about it when he got his shot on Sixty Minutes. I know it seems pretty old school, but that vast sea of voters who just don't care enough to watch debates or tune in the nonstop political coverage on cable news...they matter and that was his chance to present himself to them.

Looking at the campaigns, it just feels like Biden got incredibly lucky. It seems he doesn't deserve his lead, because he didn't do all that much on stage. His campaign was light on policy and had no breakout debate performance. It didn't create any momentum nor any narratives for the media beyond "I know Obama". I don't know what happened backstage, maybe they did a lot.

I fear that can be very dangerous in November, as it's very similar to what Clinton did. Or past November as the democratic party then will have infights about policy since Biden "has no plans for that" nor "wrote the d* bill". Looking back, it might have been better for the progressive wing to go with a younger candidate since Bernie lacks the one argument that could sway Biden voters to him (being younger so that they argument is he can be an incumbent in 4 years and also younger in comparison to Trump).

And choosing a woman would have been nice. Maybe Klobuchar and Warren should have merged their campaigns pre-Iowa to push that narrative. But that's looking back.
