Broccoli is excellent.

I wonder about the supertaster thing sometimes. People who hate veggies are more likely to be supertasters from what I understand. While I'm well aware that this is anecdotal, I have casually observed a connection between hating vegetables and not liking extreme spices.

I am not that subtle when it comes to flavor.

I will only eat cauliflower if it's pickled. And even then, I eat it with reluctance. :ack:

Broccoliflower with ranch dressing FTW.

That said, only certain brands of frozen broccoli should be bought. Walmart always has half their bags filled with stems.

I've noticed at Tesco near where I live that not only is loose broccoli (with free plastic bags) stored right next to plastic-wrapped broccoli, but that it is markedly cheaper... it mystifies me that someone out there is obviously buying the wrapped stuff.

I had hoped this thread was about directors of James Bond movies :(

I don't think Cubby ever actually directed. Producer, yes.

And he was definitely more awesome than the actual broccoli.

Broccoli is high in vitamin C, as well as dietary fiber...
What do you think about broccoli?

I like it. A mix of fresh veggies is my lunch. And I just learned this week that barley has four times the fibre of brown rice - tastes better too.

It's my favorite veg. I don't like it raw, but it is great on pizza, and have enjoyed it like that for years. Veggie pizza is also awesome, as well as broc and tofu (not pizza).

I've had some broccoli that was decent when cooked and seasoned to hell and back. Much more that wasn't. More than I can say for other vegetables, including this "califlower" business some folks here are raving about.

Needs an option between "okay" and "AWESOME". It's nutritious and can be quite tasty. Plus it looks like a small tree. What's not to like?

I'm pro-Broccoli. It's 'the' stuff. In my opinion, it's best when raw, then steamed, then boiled. It's very versatile and you can eat it whatever which way. I like putting grated cheese on top of the sprouts and warming it up for 5 minutes in the oven. Eating it raw is fun, I like to pretend I'm a giant dinosaur and that I'm eating trees. :D

Unfortunately, I don't have any in my fridge right now!!

My only gripe about eating it raw, or any vegetables (and some fruits) is that it leaves a tingly feeling in my mouth and it itches.

I eat it because it's very healthy but I think it's revolting :/ Thats coming from a vegtable lover too!

I love broccoli. But never with chese. I like it raw, grilled, or steamed. I also like Cauliflower, potentially more than broccoli. Interestingly, broccoli and cauliflower are the same species of plant.
