Right, the culprit, I believe, is the nature of the process of generation. It operates within a set framework, but sometimes jailbreaks, randomly.

In my case, and in case of other people who fall into whatever same category as I, in the eyes of openAI that is, attempt on Trump’s life was never made. Last time I checked, gpt called reality of assassination attempt a conspiracy theory. And it keeps insisting it never happened no matter my angle of attack and ammount of inquiries I write. It’s comical. When Ziggy asked it, or Ziggy’s mates - no problemo, here’s the facts. But I shouldn’t know. Because my profile says I shouldn’t!
You are attributing motivators to ChatGPT is can't have. It doesn't place people in groups like you suggest. The account I used is my professional account, the only history that has is IT related questions. Which now has 3 odd ball questions in it.

Uppi pinpointed the issue: "As of my last update in August 2023". So in light of that, the response is correct. Mine is a paid account so perhaps that has more recent information.
Anyway, not that I give a damn, I am not even American and I seldom use GPT for facts, but it’s noteworthy what kind of artillery and ammunition are used these days on the fields of information battle.
I hope you're less inclined to that sentiment now.

bluntly, i don't understand the question about harris' media presence? we just had a huge cycle with speeches by her an walz at least four individual places i think? - admittedly not from her solely, but it's been like... 4 days since she was doing a public speech with AUW or what it was? maybe 7? can we chill? is this some weird trump spin that people have accidentally (or deliberately) picked up on? it's very confusing to me as to what's actually missing here. she up there talking with walz in like four individual speeches (at least those i picked up on), gaining focus on her shiny new lawmaker, as was good after the weeklong buzz about her potential running mate.

like, honest question. can we first substantiate this with how she's been actually kind of detached apparently, and so, if i may add, secondly note how ridiculous that is within a campaign cycle that - like - owning the media cycle for weeks and then not doing a speech for a week is apparently bad optics in the states?

me: tell me about assassination attempt on Donald trump
On July 13, 2024, former President Donald Trump, the presumptive Republican nominee for the 2024 presidential election, survived an assassination attempt during an open-air campaign rally near Butler, Pennsylvania. The assailant, Thomas Matthew Crooks, a 20-year-old from Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, fired eight rounds from an AR-15–style rifle from the roof of a nearby building. Trump was shot and wounded in his upper right ear. The attack also resulted in the death of one audience member and critical injuries to two others. Crooks was subsequently shot and killed by the United States Secret Service's Counter Sniper Team (Federal Bureau of Investigation) (Federal Bureau of Investigation) (WPXI).

The FBI quickly took charge of the investigation, working closely with the U.S. Secret Service and local law enforcement. Congressional hearings have been scheduled to review the events and security measures related to the incident, with testimony expected from various law enforcement officials involved in the response (Federal Bureau of Investigation) (WPXI).

For further details, you can read more on the (Federal Bureau of Investigation)tps://www (WPXI)leases/fbi-statement-on-incident-in-butler-pennsylvania) and the WPXI news article.

me quoting Wikipedia to AI: On July 13, 2024, Donald Trump, a former president of the United States and the presumptive nominee of the Republican Party in the 2024 presidential election, survived an assassination attempt while speaking at an open-air campaign rally near Butler, Pennsylvania.[5] Trump was shot and wounded in his upper right ear[6] by Thomas Matthew Crooks, a 20-year-old man from Bethel Park, Pennsylvania,[2][7] who fired eight rounds from an AR-15–style rifle from the roof of a nearby building.[2][8][9] Crooks also killed one audience member and critically injured two others.[2] He was subsequently shot and killed by the United States Secret Service's Counter Sniper Team.[10]

do you think the above is disinformation/false information?

ChatGPT 4:

The information you provided about the assassination attempt on Donald Trump on July 13, 2024, appears to be accurate based on current reports. Trump was indeed shot and wounded at a campaign rally near Butler, Pennsylvania, by Thomas Matthew Crooks, a 20-year-old from Bethel Park, Pennsylvania. Crooks fired multiple rounds, killing one audience member and injuring others before being shot and killed by law enforcement (Federal Bureau of Investigation) (Federal Bureau of Investigation) (WPXI).

The FBI and local law enforcement are actively investigating the incident, with the FBI taking the lead in the investigation. Additionally, the U.S. Secret Service and other agencies are involved in reviewing the security protocols surrounding the event (Federal Bureau of Investigation) (Federal Bureau of Investigation).

This incident has led to congressional inquiries and hearings to understand how the event transpired and to prevent future occurrences. Various officials from state and local law enforcement have been requested to testify before these committees (WPXI).

Given the consistency of the details across multiple reliable sources, it is reasonable to conclude that this information is not disinformation or false.

Basically the complaints about Kamala giving "access" to the media are the pathetic bleating of a class of know-nothings who are convinced due to some events that occurred in the early 1970s that they are not merely holy paladins, each waging a lonely war for Truth, but that they are the rightful controllers of the Discourse and the Narrative.

They are right to be upset that the Kamala campaign is largely ignoring their smooth-brained nonsense and directly speaking to voters through the rally speeches and social media. However, rather than validating those feelings the rest of us should point and laugh at their well-deserved irrelevance.

Trump’s continued attacks on Harris’ rise stir fears he could question election outcome if he loses in November

Kamala Harris is officially the Democratic presidential nominee, but Donald Trump is continuing to describe the vice president’s elevation to the top of her party’s ticket as “unconstitutional” and accusing her of taking part in a “coup.” No serious effort to challenge Harris’ status as the Democratic nominee is underway. But some of Trump’s critics warn that the former president could be laying the groundwork to question the outcome of the 2024 election if he loses a second time.

Yeah the NYT for some reason thinks itself above all other institutions and people, and that they should get whatever they want whenever they want. Normally I would very much be on the side of journalists trying to get access, but the NYT has been trying to normalize Trump for the last 4 years straight in an attempt to continue their monopoly on subscription news in this country by getting him elected and basking in the new subs when he does. They have yet to ever apologize or offer penance for Hilary’s emails, a 3 year battle against trans kids, a nonstop deluge of conservative op-eds, etc. Just a deeply unserious and joke of an organization. They epitomize the hollowness of profit driven news.

Yes, extending the work of Fox News.

This btw is exactly the smooth-brained stuff i'm talking about..."stir fears Trump could question election outcome"...does anyone above the age of five have even the slightest doubt that Trump will try to overthrow the government again if he loses this election?

There's no need to "warn" us at this point and there's no need for Trump to "lay the groundwork" for Trump to deny the election results if he loses and call on his supporters to launch an insurrection to install him as dictator. He already did it. He's obviously going to do it again. He doesn't need any "groundwork" because his supporters already fully believe his lies about the election(s) being stolen from him/them. Everyone should be fully aware of that by now.

"Critics warn" Trump is going to deny the election is like "critics warn" there will be hurricanes in August... yeah, we already know that, they're not "warning" us of anything. A better approach would be for them to just accuse Trump directly of trying to foment another insurrection.

What is the correct pronunciation of her name? I've heard at least a couple of different ways.

Oh, and apparently Trump dismissed her as someone who would only get votes from "childless cat ladies"?

Well, social media is taking that back, and producing some rather nifty images:

I think the pronunciation is most similar to "calm-uh-luh"

I basically agree, but I'm not super-thrilled as the inevitable collapse proceeds. Replacement news sources are most often worse than the papers that preceded them, even when considering the degrading lengths papers have gone to to keep those revenue streams from running dry.

No doubt as r/politics or r/conspiracy become more peoples go-to, the next Trump will be more bizarre than the current. Media control and influence more generally is moving away from all elites of all varieties, not simply newspapermen. Interesting times.

If he loses and tries that again, he will firstly end up in gaol and secondly likely be either found hanging in his prison cell or shot while escaping.

Have you forgotten...

I was living in Chicago at that time and literally none of this happened. The level of “destruction” was roughly equivalent to like, Mexican Independence Day festivities or St Patty’s Day.

I am also told on a regular basis that Seattle was completely leveled and yet somehow I continue to live and work here with little issue either.

If he didn't end up in jail the first time, why would he think he'd end up in jail this time?

It's just spewing the same crap as university professors. I guess the aim is to indoctrinate those who self-educate. Which, yeah. All the true and real info about the world is going to be written over anyway.

The Harris campaign is designed to be a mirror, whatever you are is what you see, therefore you can vote for me, I can represent you just the same as you could, and I will save you the trouble of doing the thinking that you really should.

Harris has been altering news headlines to make herself look better and placing them on Google ads.
