I have 302 friends. I actively engage very few of them, but I do read a lot of stupid people's posts for teh lulz.
Guys guys, calm down. There's no need to get so worked up over something as trivial as Facebook. You don't like it? Great. Don't use it.
Not when it becomes nearly a requirement. I know of at least a dozen sites that use a damn Facebook commenting system. It's basically saying "Don't use Facebook? Your opinion don't matter."
So what's the problem? It's just as problematic as any registration system I can think of.
I find it very practical to keep track of certain printed/electronic magazine pages through facebook, instead of having to load separate pages in my browser since i am very lazy![]()

That its hardly becoming a choice anymore whether to register to FB or not. I dread the day that a FB is required to do anything other than basic browsing.
You still haven't answered my question.
Too many people buy into the tabloid pieces which claim that Facebook will sell your soul to the FBI and that your life is now controlled by Big Brother.
Yes I did. You asked "what's the problem." I said "it's becoming nearly mandatory."
I don't want a Facebook account. Stop trying to push me onto one.
