Yes I was waiting for that!
When considering Scandinavia actions please consider this. The events of 1814, described here in detail, caused a significant distrust of foreigners in our lands. You could say our people have developed a sort of Xenophobia, and the people who hold the more extreme of these views (the Purists) are likely to become violent towards foreigners. For this reason we can not be sure of their safety. The two alternatives are we provide armed escorts or we allow the missionaries to bring their own. As you can imagine the latter is impossible, foreign troops in our lands would be even worse. The former we could not allow either as our small forces are already stretched protecting long our borders. You will note however, we escorted the missionaries safely out of our lands.
We have recognised that this xenophobia is a critical issue and have decided that free trade is the best method to show that foreigners can bring benefits as well. The new varieties of goods now in our lands and the prosperity of of of exports shows that this is working well, as described here in detail. It is likely therefore that as the populace become familiar with foreigners over time, they will accept them further into the country. At the moment they are limited to our ports and outside our gates of Copenhagen, where we can protect them more easily.
As for Finland, it is a fellow Scandinavian nation and our diplomatic mission, (described here in detail), emphasised that it would still retain its autonomy yet gain the protection of the whole Scandinavian Union. We are in no way forcing that nation under the threat of arms, as we want that nation to become part of the greater Scandinavian Union. Our territorial ambitions go no further than this.
In response to Mongolian aggression, the Kingdom of Joseon and the Chinese Federation have established a defensive pact between the two nations. Should either party be attacked by an outside aggressor, the other party will come to their aid by declaring war on the aggressor. Crown Prince Myeong has been sent to Taipei to ratify this treaty.
