Wow, that's a real beaut! I'm sure we all could use an awesome Mammoth unit!

Thats great Yang Liu! I have requested mammoth units for my mod so many months ago! It would be excelent if you could do a few, here are my request:

In my mod Mammoths will still exist in the northern regions, like North America (Canada), Scandinavia and Siberia, so it would be awesome if I could have a few different ones, the animal doesnt need to change, but the riders do, could use one for the following civs or groups:

Native American
Germanic
Steppe Nomadic
and possibly Korean

Could also use an animal unit, I mean Mammoth without any rider, to be used as a barbarian unit ;)

Yea, looks cool and mean! :)
For me if you can do a bunch of War Mammoths with the same animation but different skins will be fine, a good idea would be an early mammoth unit for different civs (a throwing spear or a bow would probably be good), and then a later mammoth for the same civs (armored and possibly with more than one rider, with bows and pikes).
Will you do Elephants too?

Hi Madeira
I will produce some Mammoth units, when I have free time.
Do you like this ?

Hooray! Huzzah! Woo Woo! Yes yes yes. I have one question though: Can you please, please make one of each of these without a rider? And if you do make a rider, it would probably make the most sense if it were a pre-historic unit of some sort, wouldn't it?

Wonderful long-anticipated unit, Mr. Balck.

The rider looks too small in relation to the mammoth If I remember correctly, the largest mammoths went about 13 feet high at the shoulder, a big African Elephant will go about 11 feet, and a large Indian Elephant about 9 feet. Simply scaling isn't exact because of the difference in build or all three types, the Indian with the arching upward back, the African with the hollow back, and the mammoth with the back sloping down from the front shoulder. The rider looks like a midget or child riding it. The mammoth's head is not that greatly different in size from either the African or Indian elephant, so the scale is off. The rider should be larger, assuming that it is easier to adjust the size of the rider than the size of the mammoth.

After putting your image into Photoshop Elements, it looks like your scale is 0.1 inch equates to 1 foot. That makes your soldiers 6 feet high, the African Elephant 10 feet high, and the Mammoth 13.5 feet high. All heights are approximate. It appears from checking Wikipedia, not totally reliable but still valuable, that there was a large Asian species that did go to 16 feet or so at the shoulder, compared to the Wooly Mammoth at about the same height as the African Elephant. I was thinking the Wooly Mammoth for size. Still looks out of scale to me, but it does work from the size issue.

My personal desire is for a Mammoth resource image to use for ivory in the tundra and tundra forests.

Err... Ok... So I just lost a requested unit because someone else complained about the scale... :(

Thank you Yang Liu! :)

And there are the "what if" scenarios, like my own.
What if the Mammoths didnt go extint? You would likely see War Elephants in the hotter regions, and War Mammoths in the colder. Would be something to see an army with Armored Mongolian War Mammoths facing off against a similar Indian army but with Armored War Elephants!
