New NESes, ideas, development, etc

I would like to reserve England if possible.

Sure. I'll take reservations. No promises as to when this thing will be up and running, but I don't see how that'll hurt.

Probably going to heed your advice, as you definitively proved me wrong in LizNES5. Tech is only to be given to nations that invest any amount into it.

I didn't mean to make any sort of point regarding your previous NES... i just feel strongly that tech alliances are generally not very fun (even for the players involved in them) to play.

Anyway, i would of course play any NES you put together- preferably as Colombia... because well... i likes it so much now.

Oh no Immac, I know you didn't mean it like that. I was simply pointing out the fact that you are correct in that. You can always be the Colombian nation, though I would recommend giving something else a try :P

Hmmm... maybe something original... how about a neo-feudalistic corporate slaver-nation... somewhere... how about indonesia?

Anyway, on a more serious note, have you considered making this NES a temporal sequel to TLKNES5? You'd still have the a global pandemic, wars and economic collapse, just the starting material would be a bit more fleshed out AND alternate to our real-world... In my humble opinion, unless you have a strong reason for not doing so, it would be much more fun for most of your players who feel attached to the TLKNES5 world and provide more background and 'flesh' then just saying its based on some almost RL world.

Just saying...

Well, I could do that, but bah. I mean, I really like some of the established nations you guys have been working on. Thus why I'm not just ending the NES. But I want a more customizable NES, with no defined IC at the NES start, and I do like the fresh slate I've worked on.

:p. I likey me some revived Phoenix Throne! no sweat helping it was fun and thought provoking.

Thank you again. :P

In terms of when this is starting, I still need to finish tidying up the preNES map. After that, I need to make the Pre-NES Stats.. and then actually make the thread. So not too much work, but work nonetheless. I imagine, sometime within the next two weeks, this will be up and running. I am confident in my ability to BT update this, and normal update the other NES.

Could I possibly reserve the Franco-German empire that you have going in central Europe? So many options for this nation.....

Also, for those who do not play Imago INES, could you explain the tech system in a little more detail? And what does BT stand for?

BT = Boring Time. Generally little to no player conflicts and mainly as a way to pass decades+ in a single update to develop a scenario. Often a decent idea at the start of a NES imho, but not so often once regular turns/major player conflict begin.

EDIT - Also generally generic orders mainly giving a directions of efforts for a nation since stats often do not work for a BT.

@Arya

First off, what Adrogans said. Second, I appreciate the enthusiasm, though I envisioned a slightly more experienced player for the Franco-Germanic Empire. If no one steps forward by the Pre-NES, you're free to have it. Until then, you interested in anything else?

1860. I believe the person originally responsible for the map is Supermath.

EDIT: Imperio do Brasil :p

Thanks, I will be using this, moving it ahead one year. I had no idea how many wars there were at that exact time period!

I have already called that nation, Frozen. (Just privately, because I didn't want to spam this thread with nothing productive to add about the ruleset or anything.)

Okay, I took this map that LoE posted, and I have been updating it to bring the date to August 1, 1861. There was one error on that map, the Kingdom of Sardinia gained control of Lombardy in 1859, and South Carolina succeeded in 1860. Here is a list of changes so far:

Added the Potomac River and CSA
Gave Qing China Russia's old color and Shanghai
Gave Russia a goldish color
Gave Korea a darker purple
Formed the Kingdom of Italy and gave Savoy and Nice to France

Known things to do:

India

You need to use one-pixel black borders to keep consistency with the rest of the map.

I considered that, but I like the idea of civil wars not having them.

Well, in that case I'd be interested in the yellow Spanish nation, or the one brown one near egypt. I'm really looking forward to being able to custimize the nations like you suggest LizardKing, I think it's a pretty cool idea.
