If I knew more than "I got up to pee and saw people moving around", I would tell you. Though judging from the noise, a few of them were also just gettting up to pee.
(OOC: It was a joke. )
Anyway, sithlord447, speak now or forever hold your peace.
Just because everybody is focusing on Sithlord, doesn't mean we've forgotten about you, cindle.
(OOC: I'm going away for the weekend. I'll check in here if I get the chance, but if I don't respond to a question, it's not because I'm ignoring you. )
"I will take your anssswer thisss time, Ssstuck In Pi, but I ssstill have my sssussspicionsss. For now, though, I'll jussst sssay Sssithlord and get the unevitable over with already. May tomorrow prove more fruitful in thisss concern. I feel it will.
Alssso, everyone, pleassse check your bagsss for the herb I mentioned earlier, Ignesss. The sssooner I get the potion, the lessss of my ssstrength will have waned."
Although, as a former scum, I really gotta tell you that I've used RL excuses as convenient in-game excuses before just to avoid thought and discussion. You're obviously on here enough to respond to your critics, so why not spend 20 minutes reading and thinking and then lodge a vote?
If you were really so busy, would you have come back with a counter-vote?
GM decision: All right, I'm going to extend the day by another 24 hours - due to player inactivity, as I've not heard much from some players. Talk some more, whether in the thread or behind the scenes. Otherwise, there might be a WoG coming for some of you.
If anyone gets WoG'ed due to inactivity, I'm going to be disappointed. We already lost Renata. This is not a good start fellas. Please just post a vote, any vote.
The men were climbing again. After having passed through mostly flat terrain during the day, they had reached another one of the grim Illian mountain ranges. The men walked on until they had reached another sheltered spot - a slighting overhanging part of a mountain, with beneath it some room for tents. What also drew the men's attention was a large cliff leading to far below.
"A perfect place to do away with our current suspect, is it not?" one of the men said.
He motioned towards the Adept, sithlord447. Instinctively, all the men put a few steps back and faced him. The Adept was caught between the cliff at one side and the men of the Company.
"Well, do you have to say anything for yourself?" said the Adventurer to the Adept. The Adept did not respond. The Adventurer seemed to wait patiently for the Adept to respond to him. A minute passed by without anything being said by any man in the Company.
"Enough of this!" yelled the Berserker. "We're wasting our time on you, git - you're never gonna say anything, are you? We've waited long enough! And let this be a warning to the rest of you who do not say anything - if you're not going to help the rest of us, you will face his fate as well!" He charged forward and pushed the Adept off the cliff. A cry was heard, the first - and last - thing they had ever heard from the Adept since the death of the Captain. Nothing was found in his belongings that had indicated his guilt.
Spoiler:
Sithlord447 was loyal to the Company.
Dinner was a quiet affair that night. For the first time, the Company had decided as a group to spill the blood of one of their own. The Berserker's warning still rang in the ears of all - he sounded like he was going to follow through on his threat if people remained silent. All in all, not a very fun atmosphere.

The snow had died down a bit, granting the men better weather. Like always in the Illian lands, the relief of snow and blizzards would only be temporary, but it was all the more reason to get the men on their feet quickly so that they could travel in clear weather. So reasoned they, not with reason. The belongings of the late Adept had consisted of a bag of black herbs, which would be voted upon. Apart from that, all seemed to be in order.
Then they discovered there had been a murder again.
The throat of the Slinger, Sepuku had been slit with a knife. Within his belongings, a black-coloured flask was found. Nothing else was found, which led the Company to conclude that
Spoiler:
Sepuku was loyal to the Company.
Another one was still missing, which was noted by the Dragonslayer. "We're still missing one, though. Where is the Lizardman, Diamondeye?"
Before the men were there to check on him, the Lizardman dragged himself out of his tent. As soon as the Company saw him walk, a visible sigh of relief was seen.
Something was wrong with him, though. The Lizardman has not been looking healthy since the journey home began and his condition had not become better over time, but it usually was not that noticeable. This was something completely different - he looked like he had digested something that did not sit well with him, and that was killing him from inside.
"You all right? You're looking even more sick than usual!" the Dragonslayer asked, sounding concerned.
"Not... feeling... well...." was the only reaction they got from the Lizardman. He tried to walk to the rest of the Company, but collapsed halfway. Members of the Company rushed towards him, and tried to get him back up. Alas; it was all in vain. Just one word passed the Lizardman's lips...
"Poissssssson..."
And with those words, the Lizardman was no more.
Spoiler:
Diamondeye was loyal to the Company.
The killers had not vanished, but they must keep themselves on the move. The bodies were quickly buried in the snow, and all the men went on their way.
The thread is open for posting again. Night falls in 48 hours!
Execution votes in bold, support votes in bold green, votes for the black flask in blue, and votes for the black herbs in purple.
Dragonslayer says: NOOO Friend! Stay with me!!! NO!...
*The dragonslayer lifts the Lizardman on his back and start's walking.*
Dragonslayer says: We must get out of here soon, before the weather, or TForge13 kills more of us! He must've poisoned the Herbs of the Druid and must've tricked Diamondeye into taking them!!
The dismounted axeman looks around, pulling his cloak tighter around him.
Would someone with magical capacity of wizard resort to something as blatant as poison to kill? I think it's possible, but I don't think it's likely. Me, I'd like a little more leadership from our leader. Oh, and raider, try not to talk so loudly at night, it disrupts my sleep patterns. I'd also like to suggest the flask be given to my pedestrian colleague Khazaar, and the herbs to my countryman johnhughthorn
The Berseker could feel the rage build up inside him... He felt just like he did with the death of the battle master.
"If it wasn't for the Adept silence, the Lizard man would have been fit and healthy. Tis a shame to lose a clansman. He was a strong person, and we are at greater peril now because of our loss."

Now we have some voting history and a pattern of murder to examine, so we aren't shooting totally blind anymore. I'll do a bit of analysis and post it here; I would be appreciative if others would do the same. More discussion this phase would also be great.
"Choxorn the Sharpshooter has done nothing to allay my suspicions. Further more I believe that the person or persons who froze TFA are/is the same as Diamondeyes killers"
"Also theFlask should go to me, there is no safer place."
The Big orc sits down to take a rest. He ponders on the matters at hand. Thinking is such a pain. He prefers to just wade in, slice some people and in the unlikely event that someone survives then ask questions.
"The more I think about it, the more unlikely this skinny sharpshooter choxorn is a guilty party."
The orc ponders some more. His brain was hurting a bit.
"Seon has been keeping a close eye on me, as I have of him. While nothing stands out, I wish to know what he has been doing as of late."
The main thing I noticed was how eager people were to bandwagon Sithlord447. Sure he wasn't talking, but if he were mafia, his teammates would have been doing something to get him to post more. Or at all.
In my opinion, after the first few votes, it wasn't about pressuring Sithlord447 to talk anymore. It was about making sure that no one on your "team" ended up dead.
But more than that, the people who didn't vote during the first couple rounds. IMO, that was the perfect time for the mafia to hide, because no one was voting. Why rock the boat? If no one is voting and you're mafia, you don't vote. That way there is no way to distinguish you from the others, and no voting history, and no questions to answer. So anyone who hasn't been voting much is very suspect to me.
The four people who were killed so far seem like veteran players, decent players. A couple of them are talkative enough, or usually fit things together at the end of the game. Decent players, really.
Now, there are apparently two different teams at work, unless I missed something. I doubt a game this size would be a one mafia kind of game, having designed a few dozen games, that's just what makes sense here. I also think that the kills were designed to squelch discussion.
I am thinking... based on all this, we have mafia who are unconcerned with the strategy of lynching off the lurkers, because perhaps it won't affect them for some time. But, you're also looking at a mafia who is quiet but experienced enough to whack the talkative players, or the analytical players. I'm guessing at least one player who has a lot of experience, and several who are laying low, perhaps in the middle of the activity list.
Not too talkative, but not lurking either... the perfect place to avoid arousing suspicion.
I'm thinking J-man or Double A, perhaps. He did seem awfully defensive... but I'd like to hear more from J-man.
This is a nice thought, but... it's really odd. J-man hadn't discussed with me at all. I never said I wanted the herbs. Why would he trust me with the herbs?
For one, you don't know if I'm innocent, you only know that you are innocent. Who would you trust more with the herbs, me or yourself? Or at least ask me if I want them or wait for someone to ask for them.
The person who ended up with the herbs died, too. Interesting...
EDIT: Correction, the person who wanted the herbs the most died....
Ok call me paranoid but these... "reaction posts" always seem a little forced to me. It feels like a psychological move... to try to pretend like you're feeling happy about the outcome of the night, when you're really not...
However, it might be the silence before the storm. Choxorn, can you tell us more about what you saw this morning?
With the bandwagon that formed, it's difficult to really blame J-man in particular for the death of an innocent. Perhaps the least controversial move he could make.
But that's just it... I've played many games and this pattern of behavior has shown itself over and over, and about half the time, it's scum. Given that well more than half the players aren't scum, that suggests a pattern of behavior. An avoiding tactic... specifically designed for maximum survival. Exactly how a mafia would behave... avoiding the dangers of being branded a lurker, and contributing just enough to avoid suspicion, while making the least controversial moves possible.
I also feel we're on the wrong track trying to match the "kills" to a specific player or character. In my opinion the game would be completely broken if it were that simple. And there are more nasties than simply the one doing the kill, too.
We need to break out of this pattern of voting for the lurkers, it's a waste. Every round counts, and we need to make some progress. We need more discussion and more suspects. We also need to not be so darned predictable. The kills haven't been the same, and like I said, basing suspects on only that will lead us to dead ends. We have to look at the whole picture.
In my opinion, the whole picture suggests mafia hiding in the middle of the activity list, targeting talkative or veteran players at night and lynching the lurkers during the day. While I have no reason to suspect J-man over anyone else fitting this description, further examination of him suggests he's hiding something.
