NOTW XXIX: Hired Swords - Game Thread

D'oh!

Why did I think he got the...? nevermind. I think it was because DE asked for it.

I think its pretty clear that the Lizardman was killed so he wouldn't get up to full strength. We were close, I bet the black herbs mix with the red herb, so I think TForge should get them.

The flask. I don't know about it. You could give it to me or convince me someone else is more deserving. Either way I'd like to know more about it.

ATPG, your analysis is very well thought out. No one else has provided an explanation as thoughtful and organized as your. But I hate orcs, I can't understand how such a wretched creature could think up so much bologna. One of our own was poisoned last night, who better with access to something than a Witchdoctor. Give me a reason not to think that an Orc that has access to potions and worts wouldn't be responsible for this crime. I already know that there is no solidarity among members of the Clan, so don't lay that line.

So Says the Champion

I would imagine a Witch Doctor could have potions and perhaps even poisons, yes.

If you're asking me, no, I did not do the attack, and no, I have no poisons.

Actually I rather like that he immediately went to work questioning me. That makes me feel like the town still has a pulse.

I suppose I shall wait and see what your kinsman has to say to defend himself.

Berserker, you know I'm not speaking about you. Its just in my experience the simplest answer is the correct one. Give an orc access to poison and someone will end up dead sooner rather than later.

So Says the Champion

And I suppose the other races here use poisons to make pretty wreaths and dresses and dance dance revolution games out of? :D

Always blaming it on the orc. How typically human. ;)

"Hmmm, am I the only one who finds TheLastOne36 quick arrival and accusation suspicious? As if he came to check to see if the poison had done its work."

I don't think the dragonslayer is the poisoner, because it doesn't make sense that he would vote to give the herbs to the lizardman and then kill him right after. He might be the throat slitter, though. I would like to hear more from the maceman Ekolite. I seem to have noticed less (only 5 posts total, 2 OOC) of a contribution from him than the witch doctor noticed, and the middle of activity level does seem plausible for a traitor, as askthepizzaguy suggested.

Nictel does have a point about TheLastOne36 acting suspicious.

The idea that TForge poisoned the herbs and then tricked DE into taking them strikes me as rather implausible, although I suppose it would be sensible for the Wizard to prove he still has the red herbs, just to be on the safe side.

And I'm puzzled by the level of grief at DE's death. A Dragonslayer and a Lizardman would seem more likely to be natural enemies than close personal friends.

Still, I'll wait to hear more before casting my vote.

These days I tend to speak in public only when I have something to say. I'm quite shocked that you of all people would accuse me of being quiet however. We talk fairly often in private. If you want to discuss something with me, come join me in my tent (msn).

Just quick comment/question:

Why not? It could be an attempt to make himself less suspect. Also, one would suggest that voting to give someone else an item is an attempt to make oneself look unselfish or unconcerned that they aren't the ones getting the item.

That gets into a lot of shaky, unproven psychology, so I'll just mark that down as my personal opinion.

It's all too often a hiding place. It's a pretty good one too.

Dragonslayer says: THAT IS RIDICULOUS! HAHA

First of all, Diamondeye is .. was ... My friend. I have spent much time with him in our homelands and out of all the people here, I would rather have him survive than me. Why do you think Diamondeye is on my back? I'm bringing him to our homeland.

Secondly, Diamondeye collapsed before all of us, I was the first one to came to his side! What does that tell you? Also it wouldn't have been quick arrival if we were all there.

As for the quick accusation, I realize now that I might've been acting on emotion to the quick accusation on Tforge13, but my vote still stands, as I've yet to have any other possible leads and Tforge13 is still IMO the most likely to have poisoned Diamondeye.

As for the objects in question, I don't see whoelse should have them, So I vote for ME to have both.

The four people who were killed so far seem like veteran players, decent players. A couple of them are talkative enough, or usually fit things together at the end of the game. Decent players, really.

Looks like you jsut set yourself up for future games. ;)

Dragonslayer says:

Now that I think about it, no deaths the other night was strange. Is it possible maybe that someone has powers to turn someone into a newt or something? (my brother got turned into a newt once...) It is possible that whoever was 'prohibiting' someone for one night did a good job.

I must be going colorblind (side effect of being an orc, perhaps?) but it's hard for me to tell these colors apart with tiny words.

Would it be possible, perhaps, to highlight a larger phrase when we're voting, to make it easier to tell? The one letter per word thing was clever but dang! I'd hate to be doing a tally this way.

For example, suppose I wanted to give myself an item.

Or accuse so-and-so.

Isn't that easier to tell? Easier to read? Easier to tally?

I'm a heretic I guess. Please forgive me and my foreign ways, I'll shaddap now.

The Orc thinks back to night two. Seems some people have not caught the significance of what happened... Such a shame really, no doubt those he was taunting would have understood but it seems the masses have missed it.

The big Orc strolled out of his tent, a big sparkle in his eye. Apart from not one but two bumps in the night he slept soundly.

“Ahhh that was a good sleep” He yelled with a yawn

Despite the hail, he looked very pleased with himself. He surveyed the other mercenaries giving them big toothy grin. He stopped in front of Seon and Stuck in Pi and gave them extra big grins that revealed his ever so sharp teeth. He moved on and gave a little wave to Askthepizzaguy as he returned to pack up his tent.
