Pizza!

What is your favorite pizza style?

Neapolitan, but I also can do New York style. Not a huge fan of Chicago style, but i'll eat just about anything.

What is your favorite pizza restaurant?

Any of those small hole in the wall type places, down here we I live, we also have a place called Andiamo, which is pretty amazing.

What are your favorite toppings?

Used to be only allowed to eat kosher pizza, but now I like pepperoni, sausage, and ham on my pizza. I also like chicken and anchovies on occasion.

What is your favorite frozen pizza?

You crazy... gross

How do you like to prepare pizza when you make it homemade?

I don't like to cook my own pizza because I always overload it with cheese, but I just stick it in the oven with fresh tomatoes and deli sliced cheese.

How much are you willing to spend on a good pie?

I would spend up to $20 dollars for a truly superb pizza.

So let's compare notes on our favorite pizzas.

What is your favorite pizza style?
Whatever normal pizza is. I tend to prefer thinner crust on cheaper pizza though.

What is your favorite pizza restaurant?
There is this one place in Duluth called Lucci's which was outstanding and Davannis is always good, although for delivery I like Papa Johns and new Dominos isn't half bad.

What are your favorite toppings?
Pepperoni, although I have been coming around to alfredo with bacon even though it is quite salty.

What is your favorite frozen pizza?
Red Baron classic style. It isn't that expensive (~$3.50) and everything about it is pretty good. Plus it reheats well and tastes good cold/lukewarm.
How do you like to prepare pizza when you make it homemade?
Only homemade pizza I've ever done is take the Pilsbury Pizza crust and put sauce/cheese/pepperoni on it. I wouldn't recommend it. I didn't put that much topping on it but it burns easily, gets really heavy and greasy, and tastes a bit like soap.

How much are you willing to spend on a good pie?
$7.

Roasted garlic goes very nice on a pizza.

Oh yeah, roaster garlic, not just minced. I ask this to be put on every pizza I order. A lot of places will have it as a free thing you can add.. but some make it an extra topping, which is bs

Toppings: Beef, pineapple, mushrooms, green olives, black olives, green (or red) pepper, and sliced turkey or chicken (if made at home).

2 kinds.

1- Bacon, Jalapeno, Canadian Bacon, Pepperoni, and Ham.
2- Pepperoni, Bacon, Feta and Alfredo instead of tomato sauce.

Mmmm good.

EDIT: Also, cracker crust.

What is your favorite pizza style?

I grew up in New Jersey, so it's strictly thin crust (NY style) for me. The keys to a great pie, in my opinion are
1) The crust has to be good. If I wouldn't eat it without toppings, it's not good crust.
2) You need a really hot oven. You want a few bits of light char on the crust and the toppings should be cooked but not roasted.
3) You shouldn't overdo the toppings. You're not making soup here, less is more.

What is your favorite pizza restaurant?

My favorite in Austin itself is Home Slice on South Congress, they're the best in town I've tried, although there are plenty of places to get at least a decent pie. There used to be a food trailer down by 6th and Red River that was pretty reliable but they don't seem to be around anymore.

If you're in the area, however, you should drive out to Bee Cave and check out Tony C's in the Hill Country Galleria. They cook with anthracite out there and claim to get their oven up to about 1000 degrees F, hot enough to cook a pie in about a minute and a half.

The only other place I've had pizza from a coal-fired oven was at Grimaldi's in New York, which was the best pie I've ever had.

What are your favorite toppings?

If I'm picking the toppings: tomato sauce, cheese, and mushrooms. Might sprinkle on some oregano at the table.

What is your favorite frozen pizza?

I can't say I really have one.

How do you like to prepare pizza when you make it homemade?

Haven't done that in years. I did do one interesting variation a long time ago. I used to get these half-baked crusts. I'd make a sauce with olive oil and mustard and top the whole thing with purple onions and kalamata olives.

How much are you willing to spend on a good pie?

I've never had to spend more than $15-20. I suppose I'd go as high as 30 or so for a large pie split with another person.

I'm a Pizza-Minimalist.....as simple as possible is key to me...a good old Margherita or maybe Pizza Prosciutto still is best and beats most fancy Pizzas hands down

There's a local(?) chain called Greco's that has kinda unique sauce that I quite like. It's a fairly good price, too, given how expensive pizza joints are.

My favorite is easily vegetarian. If there're banana peppers and pineapple on it, too, I tend to like it. I don't like the meat lover's pizzas very much. I don't really like pepperoni or salami on my pizza.

So let's compare notes on our favorite pizzas.

What is your favorite pizza style?
Thin crust, light on the cheese.

What is your favorite pizza restaurant?
In terms of Dayton-area chains, Cassano's is easily the best (suck it, Miriam's fans!), although Cousin Vinny's is pretty damn awesome if it's late at night. For national chains I'll take anything but Papa John's hand-tossed. It's not that it's all that terrible, but my school ordered it every Thursday and I soon grew sick of it.

What are your favorite toppings?
Meats.

What is your favorite frozen pizza?
I'm gonna sacrifice some cred and say that Tony's is all right, but I'll take pretty much anything but Red Baron. I mean, I'll take Red Baron, but I'd really rather not.

How do you like to prepare pizza when you make it homemade?
I don't.
How much are you willing to spend on a good pie?
This depends on too many variables for me to answer adequately.

Feta, garlic, anchovies, black olives, spinach, no red sauce.

What is your favorite pizza style?

Thin crust, italian style
What is your favorite pizza restaurant?

A local pizzeria, run by italians

What are your favorite toppings?

Mushrooms, pepper, anchovies, olives

What is your favorite frozen pizza?

They all taste like cardboard

How do you like to prepare pizza when you make it homemade?
I always buy it

How much are you willing to spend on a good pie?

7 euro / 9 usd, but where I live, everything is expensive.

I'm not entirely sure what Greco's range is, but they are all over the place here in the Maritimes. When it comes to delivery/takeout pizza, its definitely a lot better than Pizza Hut/Domino's/etc.

Over 100 locations in Atlantic Canada, Ontario, and Quebec

Sadly it's been years since i last ate a pizza :/

Mostly italian-type ones were popular here, eg 'Roma', 'Verona' etc (not sure if the companies have anything to do with Italy, maybe they are just named as such).

The american-type pizzas i had eaten were not good though. Pizza hut and Dominos have a small presence in this city, iirc i ate one from PH.
