Still looking for a full-time job but...
I just got a part time job in the meantime as a lab manager at the school's Space System Engineering lab. My main job will be retro-fitting it and turning it into a clean room for building an actual satellite that's going to space next year.
I also just joined Reddit a couple of days ago and someone gave me gold. Not sure what it is or what to do with it but it's pretty cool.

Rave: Had a blast yesterday. 10 or so Japanese students came to Iowa, and the university wanted to throw them a small party when they arrived and asked students in Japanese classes to show up and socialize. Took the opportunity because it sounded like a ton of fun, despite my poor Japanese skills. Also free pizza. Turned out to be a lot of fun! Spent almost the whole time in English, though I tried some small Japanese phrases.
And leads me to my second rave. Nailed my Japanese oral exam today! I think talking and listening to Japanese people talk yesterday helped me a bunch in terms of warming up for talking and listening to my sensei. I can seriously imagine how great it would be to move to Japan and be in that environment 24/7. I could seriously learn the language!
