Actually, we posted pics of each other in the Member Photos thread about a year ago.(…)
I don't ever go to that thread. I prefer to imagine people as their avatars.

So Takhisis is imagining me as a grinning, blonde boy who happens to stand close to incredibly awful situations? And yet keeps on being incredibly optimistic? Huh, apart from the blonde hair, you're not that far off.

Well, my picture is just me wearing a coat, gloves, a balaklava, and a hat while drawing a bow, so you really wouldn't know what I looked like anyway since my face is hidden.

Reminds me! Didnt you want a Mongolian bow or something? How is that going?

Actually, until you wrote this, I'd pretty much stopped looking, since all the ones I saw were several hundred to several thousand Euros apiece. A really good Manchu bow would cost upwards of 3,000! They also demand proper technique when drawing and stringing, and I'm largely a self-taught archer, and far from anyone who understands composites. However, I just checked Grozer again (a Hungarian bowyer) and they have some decent bows for under 200 Euros, so maybe I'll look into them again! But then, once you get the bow, you'll want some proper strings, arrows, a quiver, maybe a holster, and a thumb ring, and since I'm usually at school I don't normally have the chance to shoot. Once I graduate, and if I can get a good job with enough spare money, I'll have to look into it. That, and some armor...

Armour is for chumps! Glorious Manchu archery surely is a superior art! No, this is unrelated to me playing an EUIV campaign as a Manchu tribe to form the Qing Dynasty, why would you ask? :mischief:

ARMOR IS GLORIOUS, UNARMORED HEATHEN! MAY A THOUSAND ARROWS PIERCE YOUR SOFT, WEAK, UNARMORED FLESH!

:p

I wrote a bit about them some time ago here, but Manchu archery, bows, and arrows were all very cool and based around maximizing sheer power. I'd love to get some someday.

Yeah, I remember posts and links and stuff about Manchu bows and draw lengtg and power and stuff. Archery looks really cool. I remember practising some as a kid, meaning there was an archery activity somewhere and I got to shoot a handful arrows at a close target. Was fun. I remember that when I was in between volleys the instructor or whatever asked if anybody was left-handed (which I am), and she immediately answered that I clearly wasnt. Those snippets of youthful mirth.

I'll get the hair dye.

I've liked picturing you as a bearded Oghuz horse-archer in a pointy helmet, grinning at me.

I know, right? It's so terrible that they named a beach after it!

We'll make you some powered armour if you dye your hair blond…

You can use the powered armour to improve your chances. There's a special skill called ‘aggressive bartering’.

The correct turn of phrase is 'aggressive negotiations'.

rave: finished Star Wars and ready for Ep 7 tomorrow.
