I have to agree with Bob on this one, Civ V is awesome, steam is awesome (I don't get why people hate it so much).

Also, Civ V > Civ IV > I didn't play any of the other games, Civ IV was my first.

It isn't that much, it doesn't take more than 10 seconds per city.

I have steam, and I use it frequently, I haven't had a single issue (and I don't really like Total War, I've tried a couple demos and I'm absolutely horrible at it ).

Steam is for TF2 and free games. Of course I'm broke, so the TF2 doesn't apply to me, but once I get some money...

And free games on Steam is wonderful.

I use GamersGate if I want dirt cheap games. They have no client necessary to play your games and they only require Net access to download and install the games. That is a helpful download service.
